Youtube now seems to have a few videos about that thing that happened on G4tv’s PAX coverage and it wasn’t actually just a Virtual Boy appearing on the show, but it was Keith Apicary interrupting X-Play (the G4tv show that had the PAX coverage) in his Virtual Boy costume

I haven’t watched any of these videos yet though

does Teleroboxer save for you now?

I was hoping Kid Icarus Uprising was going to be a launch game for the 3DS when I first heard about it 🙁

thats another thing that makes me wonder if I should wait to get the 3DS

It looks a bit blurry; it could also be 35.

now that I looked at the picture again it does look like it might be page 35…

I think I want Cosmo Black (and just get some sort of case or cover thats red) but sometimes I wonder if I got a Cosmo Black 3DS would Nintendo almost instantly announce a Red or Red/Black 3DS?

but then if I waited and the 3DS failed I’d get no Red 3DS and feel bad that I didn’t get the 3DS and feel that I was the one of the people who made it fail 😉

cool, I’ll try to watch it later…

I wish I could be a Virtual Boy too 😛

I’m not sure if you knew this but on the third photo of the magazine I noticed its missing a few pages (it skips from page 30 to page 33)

this probably should have been posted in “Flashboy” and not “Main Virtual Boy Discussion”

…just saying 😀

EDIT: Was the whole episode about PAX? My friend has AT&T, so I could have him record it on his DVR and then I could copy the segment.

I think the whole episode was about PAX… I’m not sure, I didn’t watch it

I don’t have one but one day I want one for my game collection… mostly because it was a VB knockoff 😛

Welcome to the Planet Virtual Boy forum, Srimok!

nice collection by the way… however I noticed in your profile that you haven’t posted your collection list there! just so you know, theres a feature where you can fill out a checklist to show those who look at your profile which games you have in your Virtual Boy collection (you can even include photos like the one you shown)

I hope you have fun here! 😀

*goes off topic in my own topic*

VirtualJockey is not a girl… I am a girl, however 😛

also, since we are bringing up cats… (by the way, this is not my cat)

Media drama!

that must mean the 3DS is awesome but the journalists can’t handle it, like the Virtual Boy 😉

I read the title of this topic and didn’t think it was a typo of “puking” and I was all “he did WHAT with his VB?!” 😮

1. the red/black “3” could be a tribute to its predecessor the Virtual Boy
2. it is the third DS to have different features (the DS Lite and DSi XL didn’t have new features)
3. it is the third 3D attempt by Nintendo (1. Famicom 3D System 2. Virtual Boy)
4. red was/is still sometimes related to the Nintendo logo, and Mario of course
5. 3DS is also called 3DS because its a 3D DS
6. because red + black = sexy 😉

1. Possible (sorry Protoman, it wasn’t the first 3-D offering from Nintendo).
2. Wrong: the DS Lite added two more back-light brightness levels source.
3. Wrong: they had working prototypes of both Gamecube and GBA with a similar parallax-barrier display. Source: “Iwata Asks” articles (don’t have time to find a link).
4. Already mentioned. But, I would like to add evidence: the 25th anniversary red Wii Mario bundle.
5. Really?! 😛
6. heh

I meant stuff like the “menu” where you can select to play the game and such… the DS Lite has the same menu as the DS and the DSi XL has the same menu as the DSi

also, I meant the 3D attempts they actually released, not prototypes

another thing I’ve wondered… do you think there will be a red/black 3DS due to something Mario (like his newest game that would come out on the 3DS)?

Way to go, Jake! I hope you don’t stop at fixing Teleroboxer. I hate to say it, but I kinda hope your VB’s displays start glitching to force you to do the permanent fix 😉 NO, WAIT, I TAKE IT BACK, NOOOOOOO! 😀

don’t wish that upon me too 😯

EDIT: I heard blowing on cartridges actually shortens the life of them due to the moisture that can go onto it from your mouth so… if you are blowing onto the VB’s speaker area… ehh… 😉

hey, I’m older than VirtualBoyX and never tried soldering either 😛

Same here, but mostly because I’m afraid of screwing up.

exactly why I’ve never tried 😉

its not a Dell Latitude, its a IBM ThinkPad T20

also, the only emulation I wanted to do was Virtual Boy at this moment

I got it working! however its a bit laggy… is it my computer or how Mednafen responds to VB emulation?

Without knowing the specs of your PC, it’s hard to say, but Mednafen runs pretty smoothly on my ancient hunk-o-junk (ca. 7-year-old 2.4GHz P4).

my (laptop) computer was made somewhere around 2000 and has a sticker that says “Pentium III”, it also says “designed for Windows 2000” and “Windows 98” but it has Windows XP (I forget how to get to the place to check the specs on it)
