The amount of negativity towards anything 3D has always baffled me. We’ve got 2 eyes for a reason, to perceive depth, so… I fail to comprehend why anyone is less than enthusiastic about 3D, especially in a video game.
I know, someone (on a different site) actually got annoyed by me expressing my opinions on engadget’s review on the Virtual Boy, they said all these things like “the VB gives 99.99% of people headaches!” and I am only one of the “3 people” who don’t get headaches from the VB (which they then said that they were joking about the 3 people thing after I confronted them with proof of more than 3 people)
why can’t I express my opinions if reviews like that can express theirs? 😕
this reminds me of the time I got Virtual Fishing from a fellow VB enthusiast friend 😀
well, I kind of do have to agree with VirtualJockey, I’ve found myself buying more older Nintendo games than DS or Wii stuff…
I actually used to not really like Reggie when I was 11! I thought he made Nintendo conferences much more boring than the rest of the people there (Iwata, Miyamoto, etc.) 😛

once you mount the thing onto its two-legged stand any aspirations of a truly immersive experience are obviously out the window. Any notions of shame will follow as soon as you stick your face in the thing.
Sounds pretty bias. Anybody that put their chubby face in a VB in 1995 was amazed. It was real 3D, every kid was stoked that played it then.
heck, I put my face (which might also be chubby) in a VB in 2010 and was amazed (even though I didn’t doubt I’d be amazed) 😛

at first I thought the picture that shows the pills (that are red of all colors…) were placed there as a joke of addiction to playing the VB, but then I realized they are headache pills 😐
I’m a Nintendo fanboy! (actually I’m a fangirl)
I enjoy Nintendo products, focus mostly on Nintendo, know a good amount of the history of Nintendo (I wish I had an Ultra Hand!) and as my username implies, I really like Gunpei Yokoi’s inventions and such
however, I do play/enjoy non-Nintendo consoles/handhelds… but I would get a 3DS before a PSP2 (“NGP”)
(R.I.P Yokoi-san 🙁 )

And even if any of this were possible it still wouldn’t work because sources say the “3d picture” feature of the 3DS is crap and doesn’t even work well at all.
sources say the Virtual Boy is horrible too 😛 (however, I’m not claiming I think I know anything about the 3DS… I haven’t even played with one yet!)

All over the place with this collection on eBay. Won a few things.
Some of his stuff went for well over value, some went under. Congrats to both the buyers and the seller, seems everyone will leave happy as a whole. 🙂
well, almost everyone (I wanted that darned Japanese VB 😛 )
just kidding, congrats to all those who won said items 😉 (I still wish I had a Japanese VB though)

Like you said, the glitchy display can happen even when your gentle with the system, but in that guys case I think he was just rough and thats what caused it.maybe it wasn’t glitching until he brought it over to the pawn shop… (ok, I’m going somewhat off-topic aren’t I?)
Maybe, but I personally don’t think so. Beacause he did seem awful rough with they system.
and no your not really going off-topic.
maybe he was rough because he gets shy around cameras and/or famous people? or time limits of TV shows?
also, maybe she didn’t actually find a problem with the system much but just wanted to get rid of it so she’d get extra cash and more attention 😐

I bet the person might have had it set up when it was new, but after the system failed the person probobly put it into his closet, until it was gotten out by his control freak girlfriend who made him get rid of it. I think the rough way he probobly played the system would have greatly damaged the system if it was played over the years, and he probobly would have gotten more games if the system was played over the years.
it is having screen problems though! maybe he took it out to relive memories (and handled/played it roughly) and then his girlfriend didn’t like that he spent time with his Virtual Boy instead of giving her all the attention?
however screen problems even happen to those who are very gentle with their Virtual Boys…

exactly, and what really bothers me is she doesn’t even have to play the Virtual Boy, so why should it bother her so much?was she jealous of a game console? I doubt the guy even spent much time with his Virtual Boy (it only had Mario’s Tennis and it had screen problems too) 😛
Yeah like you said she dosen’t even have to play it. I know the guy didn’t play the VB much beacause the stand looked like it was in perfect shape, and if he had played the system often the horrible way he put the system on it would have broke it.
unless if he kept it always on its stand, but still… he probably is clumsy and rough handles it when he plays it too
EDIT: *notices I became a “VUE(xpert)”* 😀

No one should have to sell something they don’t want to get rid of. Unless they really needed the money for something important, not beacause a control freak girlfriend wanted them to.

I agree with you. If that guys girlfriend was going to break up with him for not selling something, the odds are they are going to break anyway. Where is he after that?Without a girlfriend or a VB.
I’d never sell my VB for anyone, myself 😛

and I hated to see how it had a little bit of glitchy display going on it.
the worst part is if someone who never played the VB before played it, they might think the VB always has scrambled graphics…
also I wholeheartedly agree with “there can never be enough VBs in the world” 😀

like that Pawn Stars episode I sadly did not watch this either (how come when I don’t watch much TV theres Virtual Boy mentions everywhere?) so I was wondering if anyone here happened to be watching this? (or if a clip can be found?)
So was there a Pawn Stars episode with the VB on it?
yes, and theres a topic here that contains a link to watch it: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4196&forum=1
but how come people can take pictures through the eye pieces (I’ve seen pictures like this) and it doesn’t show up as LED lights?
don’t feel bad, I come up with ideas many might consider crazy all the time!
I like the idea, but would it really work? 😕
so, yesterday I was planning to stay up for 1 am to watch the music video on Spike, but didn’t stay up and took a nap but thankfully woke up about an hour before the show, so I watched it and really enjoyed the music video, it was awesome!
also, since I just woke up from a nightmare (its what made me wake up so early) that moment, watching the show helped me re-sleep easier! (yay for Virtual Boy related stuff!) 😀
