I will continue to make small batches of the carts as long as folk still want them. I built a few this week while I was waiting for Eric’s connectors to get here (arrived today).
Good to hear! It’s an amazing service you offer this community. 🙂 And the Vectrex community, too! Thank you!

Dude… even though it is Virtual Bowling and, thus, is likely to be bid up to the max, it is still very risky to start the auction at $0.99 with no reserve:
I’ve always been under the impression that Nintendo has been quite good about keeping care of their “legacy”, Yokoi or not. Various game journalists have joked about Nintendo having a “vault” with things like the english copies of Earthbound 0 and Mother 3 — I realize it’s a joke, but it also stems from a wide belief that Nintendo *does* take care of their legacy.
Nintendo throwing out old stuff would be akin to Disney doing the same… I find it hard to believe, but if those sources are truly knowledgeable, then that’s unfortunate in the extreme.
I’m confident that there are a few more protos out there that we’ll never see… but I do believe they’re out there.
Fantastic! Time to take out the VB yet again! I don’t even need to dust it off as you guys are keeping it nice and happy with lots of releases lately! 😀
Hmm… I’ll have to check my bank accounts. Insmouse is getting high on my list of things I want, but my bank account is getting low on “stuff required to get that stuff.” haha
There were problems getting a shipping quote. Please verify the delivery and product information and try again.
If this does not resolve the issue, please call in to complete your order.
My address is correct. It’s even worked before, haha.
I’ve been subscribed to their RSS feed for years. Even though most of the stuff that pops up usually is gone before I get a chance or even would want, it’s really neat to know what sort of cool, rare stuff is out there.
As cool as it would be to have, say, a complete NES collection, that’s just too much time, money and effort for me.
If by “complete NES collection,” you mean a CIB game collection containing all NTSC NES games, I would be surprised if more than 10 people on the planet could ever accomplish that, with primary thanks to Stadium Events. A complete NTSC NES cart-only collection, though, would be much more feasible.
Well, yeah. But even a “close to CIB” collection gets tough and expensive. A lot of the black box games are tougher to find already. Not impossible, but tougher.
That’s a great find! Thanks for sharing, DogP! I’ve been meaning to do the NaOH/solder fix on my two bad units for ages, but the barrier to entry has been dealing with the NaOH itself.
A fiberglass pen, however… I smell a Saturday project! (Well, two Saturdays from now; I’ll be out of town this weekend. :P)
Thanks again for sharing! And for all of your contributions to VB-kind. 🙂
So sad. 🙁 Sorry to hear your situation has come to this, but hopefully this sale will give you the leg up you need to re-collect it all. 🙂
As for me, when I got close to a complete US Box collection, I couldn’t stop. As cool as it would be to have, say, a complete NES collection, that’s just too much time, money and effort for me. Part of what I love about collecting the VB is that it’s pretty easy to get a full set: the stuff’s out there, there isn’t *too* much of it…
Good luck, mawa. Sorry to hear of the sale, but hopefully everything works out in the end for you.
