This is how collecting works you guys, you don’t have to be so awe-struck whenever you see a rare item with a high price. Half this thread is “lol look at THIS crazy price!” for items that, indeed, sell for that high price. $500 keychain? Sold. $200 pair of flimsy shades? Sold. $150 baseball? Sold. I know those are crazy prices, but that’s because their rarity and collectibility are also proportionately crazy.

Could we maybe do away with the “Look at the crazy price this person is asking for _____” links please?

We know, some people ask for crazy prices online, we don’t need to see each example. This thread is supposed to be for auctions to help other members find VB items, not to yawn and feign amusement about the guy asking 50 grand for a new VB.

PM’ed. Oh please lord, let there be a copy of this for me 😁😁😁🤞🤞🤞

Lol, $1500

Haha, I think I bought this same shirt less than a year ago for less than $100 shipped.

I think the custom labels have more collect-ability

No sir, just no. Repro anything will never have more collectibility than OEM anything.

Definitely leave ’em.

Here’s an interesting item I’ve never seen before… (seems like a once-a-month occurance nowadays) apparently from the auctioner, this is a store manager’s clock that was given out to promote the virtual boy, and it’s still in working condition! Definitely a rare find indeed for anyone willing to cough up over 600 bucks for it.

A link to the listing:

Ooo nice, and available for the low low price of a mere $600 USD!

If anybody else is now a NintendoAge refugee as I am, then I’d like to hear from you, see where people have gone since the effective end of the site as we know it.

The heart of NintendoAge’s userbase have mostly moved on over to http://www.videogamesage.com , and I suggest you do the same. It is the spiritual successor to the NintendoAge site. So no, I’m not sad at all to see it go, since there’s a new and improved site that has risen from its ashes. Go join VGS and we’ll see you over there!

I guess that could be Space Invaders or Hyper Fighting, since those games are diagonal to each other.

My VB collection sorta exploded all over the house when I ran out of room in the little display case. So here’s just the general gaming situation.

Haha the dab rig on the table is the best part. Now there’s the sign of someone I could hang out with!

Pretty sure if Uncle Tusk sees this he’s going to be very, very aware that people are asking about restocks, dudes. You can say something else now lol.

Yeah, VB prototypes come up very rarely. There’s not a whole lot to go on for them. Except that one guy who wants a couple thousand for a V Baseball, but that’s a bit absurd.

Yeah and that guy openly admits that he knows nothing about VB protos or collecting, he even came to me for info and advice on NintendoAge. His reasoning for pricing it the way he did was that he figured it belonged in about the same price range as a mid-range TurboGrafx 16 prototype (spoiler alert: it doesn’t) based solely on the relative obscurity of the systems.

This isn’t “the going price”, it’s a wild guess from a seller with the hopes that some collector with more money than sense will take the bait (and if someone actually did take the bait at that price, THEN we could recognize it as the going/selling rate for VB protos).

Wow,searching for this since my first VB,very rare…I love the VB sign.
This sign is new and in perfect condition but the price….
crazy… 😕

Yeah that price is hilarious. It’s just the topper for the demo kiosk, and the demo kiosk probably sells for less than he has this sign up for lol.

Uncle Tusk just released a physical version of this game but they sold out super quick. Maybe get one on the next batch!

Complete copy of Virtual Bowling (authentic) up on the ‘Bay currently:

Funny how the box is so small, I wonder what stage the design was at for them to make a box so small. Maybe just the size of a headset, which may have been intended to be on a headband at the time? It’s definitely way too small to accommodate a headset and stand, that’s for sure lol.

Quick heads-up: Kevin’s email address link in the OP includes a period at the end, which will be included in the address and prevent the email from sending. If you want to successfully email Kevin after clicking the link in the OP, delete that period! 😀

Interested for sure, will send an email when I have a bit of time.

How do you know it’s a fake box? Asking to avoid getting scammed myself…

Very easily! Just have a look at the flap on the very bottom of the box. It’s folded in the same manner as the North American releases. Just compare this very copy with any other copy online and you’ll see what I mean.

It would be a good practice to report these listings for counterfeit items (I just did :)), to help others from being duped out of $$.

Annnnd an auction just ended for an Uncle Tusk Virtual Lab for $889.00 US. Jesus people, what’re you doing.
