I’ll be getting to Virtual Lab sooner than you’d think because I’ve planned to review three games at the same time after the bowling ones. The three games I and most others think are the three worst for VB, and decide which truly is worst. Virtual Lab, Virtual Fishing and Waterworld.

Ouch, I really like Virtual Fishing, Virtual lab seems like a lazy homebrew but it has it’s moments and isn’t that bad of a puzzler, and Waterworld is just awful.

As for Virtual lab, the gal on the right that’s jumping and cheering you on has stereoscopic breasts that stand out (but nothing to get excited over?)

Concerning Virtual Fishing…if you took other fishing games from the same time era into consideration it’s not the best or worst fishing game, but also comes with the bonus of some memorizing 3D.

This thread is full of awesome and win.

The FlashBoy is a completely legal fan-made device that does not alter *any* coding to bypass security features and is intended to let the VB community enjoy new software and games on the VB made by VB fans. The VB has no OS, so all VB files can be played on the VB. The Flashboy Plus is still available for purchase:

I figure a mold of that size including manufacture of a minimum of 500 pieces would be about $500 or so as a base price from Hong Kong, no? As you up the quantities from there it’s probably only an extra $100 for 500 additional pieces.

I doubt you could sell 500 of them is the only prob. At say $5 a pop you need 100 buyers to break even.

It’s so difficult in this small scene that it’s probably better to be a labor of love and make them yourself if you have access to the right machinery.

On a side note, I sure do look forward to the link cables.

New VB stuff to contribute is always a good thing.

On a side note to KR155E, is the 5000k image limit also applied to images sent through the submission form? My only concern would be those super high res scans, since one submission has apparently failed already. I think some of the 150dpi scan are already breaking the 2500k mark.

I bought my brand new NOS USA VB for $249 I believe. Even so, I have seen them go for less on eBay.

“Released” means the game was released & sold to the public. “Unreleased” means the game is a prototype.

There are roms that exist of all the games that have been dumped if you search around. However, it doesn’t make it less illegal and roms of rare games in the free download market lowers the value in the real VB collector’s market. To my knowledge, it is only legal to possess copyrighted games in rom format of physical games that you personally own.

Anyway, I see little point in VB roms unless you own a FlashBoy.

Yeah, I’ve thought about making metal repros. It was a really bad design flaw to make that little cover out of plastic.

Here’s the front& back covers, and the first page. Same as before, the actual article page was printed extremely off angle and was difficult to try to scan straight.
