Lol, yeah, I’m sure the VB can produce what looks like at least Xbox quality 3D polygonal graphics. I guess it would be mean to actually fool us with an actual possible mockup, but I don’t see how this is supposed to fool anyone.

Wow, that was quick.

No dice until there’s a CIB for me, though. And one that is officially ‘licensed’ by the Planet Virtual Boy team =P

Ahh, no that’s practice mode, but you have to unlock it I believe.

Versus is for playing multiplayer. I can imagine it wouldn’t function properly without a second setup connected with a link cable.

It’s not super rare, it’s usually cheaper than 3D Tetris. Not by a ton though.

Well I’ll let someone else chime in as well, since that’s just a total guess. Have you opened it up? A visual inspection of the board might help.

It’s always fixable, if all else fails you might be able to find a new main board. Just start simple and work your way from there. Maybe someone who’s encountered this issue before sees this thread. Don’t give up hope.

Hmm, sounds to me like it’s a motherboard problem.

Are you using an original VB power adapter or a different one? If it’s a different one, how many amps does it output? Is it good quality or cheap?

Since the batteries aren’t working either, I’m wondering if maybe over time of not getting enough amperage or possibly voltage spikes (from cheap adapters) maybe killed the motherboard.

As for common issues, the main issue is the display connection issue, there’s no other common problems as far as I know.

Get a virtual boy emulator going on it!

I might just start looking for DK1’s if they’ve gotten fairly cheap. Would be cool to try out.

It is weird that the sound stops too…If it were the regular display issue the sound would keep going, just the picture would get screwed up. Did it sound like the music was getting distorted when it was happening? Are you sure there’s no sound when you put in a game now? (Try a game like jack Bros that has a sound as soon as you power it on)

Nice! That’s the best way to beat a game too, way more rewarding if you didn’t rely on the internet. So you have to beat the game in less than an hour for the good ending?

That’s very strange you get better 3D effect from the 3DS than the VB, as it’s the opposite for me! I would have thought what you thought, which is the 3DS not working for your eyes, but glad to hear you can view 3D on something!

I agree that VB games would be great on the 3DS, I don’t think there’s a better way to play a 3D game that’s truly portable. I just like the strengths the VB has, which some of the games use to their advantage. Mainly the total immersion and the 3D effect works very well for me.

“the overall 3D experience on the 3DS is much better.”

More portable, but I don’t think much better. The VB has a much larger viewing area, and the immersion is way better. The 3DS is just more portable.

The VB and Adventure Vision both use red LEDs, but the VB uses an oscillating mirror, where the Adventure vision using a multi-sided mirror that constantly spins in the same direction. Quite similar, but the RTI version produces a more stable picture and higher frame rate.

Huh…doesn’t look like he’s done a whole lot. Possibly he uses a heat gun to re-seat the glue. It’s technically not an oven!

I like the adapter idea, I’m kind of picturing something like the Honeybee NES/Famicom adapter.

Ahhh, I learned something new today! My pads have always worked as far as I can remember, so never really looked into it. Thanks for the info!

BTW, the platformer demo is pretty sweet. I really like the graphics, looks really nice! Didn’t have much time last night, but I will finish it!

I actually really want one of those. Sadly I could never spend the money on something like that, given the crazy prices they go for. It’s one of them unicorn consoles. Such a neat little console that intrigues the shit out of me though =P

I did pad… I didn’t change any options though, didn’t even know there was any! I usually just drag the rom onto pad.exe, never even opened it to see if there was a gui! Either way, I must have done something dumb.

Thanks for uploading the padded file Kr155e, now I can’t screw it up somehow =P

It is definitely cool to see new tools for developers continuing to come out. Great job guys.

So the platform demo is supposed to run on hardware? I tried on my flashboy, and just getting a black screen. If this is indeed supposed to work on hardware then i will keep trying, as I definitely want to try it out!

Thanks, I’ll give them a shot. Nitro tracker looks really cool, but I’ll have to get a DS and mod it.
