If that is what you have, I am afraid you will not be able to securely get your VB clamped into a stand, even if you have one.
You say the connecter piece that connects the to the stand but half of the bottom part is broken, that would mean that you cannot easily fix that.
So, you will have to buy another VB and I would advise you to go for a more complete one as that will normally be easier and cheaper to get with the stand and visor.
As Hedgetrimmer already said, please clarify on what you have got with your VB and as I read your post, it seems as if the clamping part on your VB unit itself is broken. You cannot really replace that part unless you get a spare VB unit and use its outer shell.
Please post a few pics of the parts you are talking about.

These lines have nothing to do with the connection of the cables on the displays themselves. I also have done some cleaning which seemed to have helped it in my particular case.
Wolfman, try to use some rubbing alcohol (here in the Netherlands we call it washing benzeen) with a q-tip on the screen (rubbing alcohol is very good to clean plastic without damaging it at all).
The cleaning that I have seen most effect with was on the lenses though. It seems that they get dirty quite easily though are very hard to clean well since they have a very curvy surface.
I have experienced the same as Benjamin Stevens and I always assumed the same about the reason that it is happening.
When I get notifications from English speaking users it is always in English, but when I get notifications from German speaking users it is in German.
The problem is the plastic part of the visor, take the visor completely off and get in a dark environment. There you will see that the problem is gone.
The plastic part seems to be a bit too deep to where the opening of the eye piece of the VB is at. This warps the image that is send through the eye piece.

Why not make an image of your current install and temporarily install Windows? Shouldn’t take too much time and you can return to your previous install fast and easy!
I think that would be a great way to get the VB community the attention it deserves! Last year I went to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany and there was a VB set up for playing and people were all standing in line for it, they loved it! This was at a special area for retro gaming, the VB was easily the most popular device of everything out there.
If people were to get together on the VB in real life I think the VB will get way more popular in the retro scene.

That is unmistakably the glitchy display problem, good news is that it is repairable, bad news is that you have to have a way to open the VB up and need to fix it.
Hmmmm, a very strange case then, cannot help you on this site unfortunately. Too many variables that can be the problem to just tell you what you can do.
I hope someone else does have a few more pointers, but I am afraid it is not possible with the info you gave.
