While it indeed has a VB vibe, it is quite old “news” to be honest. Though an ironic thing, as it rivals the VB in so many ways and the world deemed the VB a failure before it got a chance, including Sony.
Well, I got mine in, while the box does look nice, something went wrong with putting it in the envelope unfortunately. One corner is ripped, right out of the envelope and the envelope looks fine.
How can we solve this problem?

Interesting, there were bad batteries in there. Even when I replaced the batteries, there were still some vertical glitchy lines. Not horribly corrupted like before, but I still need to fix it. The odd thing though is that instead of the left eye being corrupted, its the right eye. I ordered the part yesterday incase, and hopefully the fix should go ok. The 3D is extremely impressive though, now that I am able to see it. It’s not eye-popping, but has incredible depth. 🙂
Congratulations on one of the best buys one can make ;)!
The problems you describe on the displays are typical glitchy display problems. It can me a bit erratic in behavior.
I am one of the people that can repair it for you, just as an F.Y.I. I charge €30,- for the repairs with a lifetime warranty.
WOW, that sign looks so good! How much do you ask for it? :p
Since I released the Space Pinball ROM, is there any special discount for me on that one? 😉
That wouldn’t be a bad idea! In the end you wouldn’t even know the difference anyways.
Though it seems different from the glitchy display issue, the cause is exactly the same. So, you will have to choose one of the many options for that issue if you want to solve your problem.
Just ordered mine! Can’t wait for it, I hope the large is the large I am used to from the USA.
Normally large in the USA is XL here in the Netherlands, otherwise it will be a cool display piece 😉
@3DSJunkie:
The story you heard is complete nonsense! It will never help even one bit, that is impossible, don’t know where you heard it, but it is bad info.
You cannot really screw up opening the VB unless you go at it with a hammer and an ax.
@VirtualMan!:
The only piece of advise I can give you to solve your problem is to solder it. If you cannot do it yourself, I can do it for you as well for a €30,- fee for the pair excluding shipping (though since you have already opened up your VB you only have to ship the displays which is fairly cheap).
That is why I disabled those checks, I’d rather have a small misspelling than those kinda mishaps lol!

Hi. I’m new to this forum, and I have a virtual boy with the horizontal line glitch in both sides of the eyepiece. I’ve tried opening up my virtual boy but when I do, there seems to be a part connected to the black plastic casing. I’ve taken out all the 6 required screws so that is not the issue. I was wondering if this happens to all virtual boys or if I just really messed mine up. If it’s messed up, then I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it? Oh, and the part the seems to be connected to the black plastic is at about the same spot as the cartridge slot. I don’t know if that helps.
Hey there, welcome to this great community.
You say you unscrewed six screws, that is two too few. You need to unscrew at least eight of them. Four screws at the cartridge bay are not necessary, while the two somewhat deeper ones there need to be removed including all other ones.
Good luck!
My god! That is a nice collection and I like the way you have displayed it even better! Nice and neat, not too big.

ALSO.
If you’d like to add on a label to your order it’s 3 extra dollars. Just send it to the same PM address if you’d still like the box/manual/label combo.
Price for the combo of box/manual/label
US 28 shipped
International 33 shipped.Thanks! Vince
Just paid for the box/manual/label combo! Thanks!
Too bad it was a dissapointment. At least you could give them a full VB experience.
What kind of con was it exactly and did you have your own stand?

Update on Stickers!
They will be available for those that have already placed their order for box/manual. And for those that just want the label. I originally didn’t know we’d be doing this as a full on release. It’s just determining a price for them now. Should only add a few bucks to the order.
Great, when you know the price I will transfer the full amount needed for it. Thanks for the update.

No update on the sticker?
I already have the cartridge with Bound High on it, I would very much like the new sticker for it with the combo I asked for. Is that possible?
Well, I have experienced this problem and managed to get rid of it by cleaning the lenses and mirrors. So, I think it is a tiny smudge, speck if you like, that is the culprit here.
The biggest challange here is to clean the mirrors/lenses without leaving other traces of stuff behind.
You say black line, but isn’t it more like a smudge? This normally is a really small smudge on either the lens or the mirrors. I once had it and got rid of it by cleaning them both with a q-tip.
You are quite welcome. I hope you continue your work on the reviews, those give a lot of people inspiration to jump on the Virtual Boy bandwagon and strengthen our community.
Enjoy your glitch free 3D fun!
