To be honest I have tried but never understood how to open mednafen
I get the zip file, extract it and try to open program but no luck
I look on google and they are all like use some command line, where do I type that, start–>run?
It has some bugs that I dont like, well in red dragon emulator atleast
When I press forward and jump he will do a small jump that wont jump over enemies
In the secpnd screen one enemy does a bit what he wants
One time he was not moving, the other time he was running under the flying object so I could not duck under the flying object
Tried this with red dragon emulator and it starts to blink half the time like the yeti3D demo did
Ok so even if it blinked 80% of the time is was playable and I really like it, well what it can become
One day I will try it on the hardware when I fix my vb but for now its ok
I checked out the hunter amiga game and I understand its all about going around and doing missions by killing enemies and so on
Maybe it was just me but the bombs would not destroy the houses and even when I crash with the vehicles it would not explode but maybe thats how the game is supposed to be or maybe I need to find a upgrade to the bombs or something
Its ironic if you ever finish this game and make it like hunter on amiga (even if you can not enter the buildings) it might become top 5 vb games
so for me atleast I like it and for the rest of you, dont think I just go around complaining because I really do give praise when deserved
Its not a game I would ever pay more then 20 euro for but that might be like I said because I only tried it on emulators and the blinking is kinda annoying
Ok I tried it with red dragon emulator and maybe its supposed to be like that but when I move the ball its like he zooms to one side so its hard to land without dying
Hard to explain but its like if I would be playing Bound High and when I press one side he would zoom and land on the other side of the screen
Now that you mention it, it would have probably made more sense to take advantage of the screen dimensions and make it a horizontal shooter. But I think that people are more familiar with vertical shooters (1942, Galaga, Space Invaders, Vertical Force, etc.) so I’m keeping it vertical.
JUST seems most people on other systems who do homebrew do side scrolling shmups but I will like I said not complain
Thank you.
Thank me when you finish the game and I give it high marks in the voting for the competition
No. It would make programming more difficult and it would require more sprites. And I plan to port this game to other platforms.
Well most good games were not made by 1 person alone, even if its just source code
it needs a lot of work but its looks very good
Would have been better to have a side scrolling shmup game but wont complain to much
For what it is it looks good
planning on going in and out of the background like in vertical force?
so a converter that just converts from usa to europe is ok or is stepdown converter a specific converter?
Well i live in Europe so finding a cheap snes cable from usa will not be easy if I also have to buy the converter and AS adapter, meh
Gor now atleast batteries and a recharger works but meh
no no, I am asking if I buy a vb ac adapter made for usa consumers do I need a specific converter to play it here in Sweden (Europe) or does any converter do find?
Not sure exactly the volt on the vb but I guess any converter will work, or?
oh now that I didnt get, I thought he was showing his artwork just to say that he can do that and he has tried some coding and now he wants to start coding a vb game
To be straight forward like I am most of the time
On top of page “community –> vb dev wiki” then just get reading, its not easy for me who has never made a game because you need to program for each visor unlike on other systems like the atari 2600
Also there is no way of making money of a game because the only way to play them on hardware is threw the flashboy (free roms threw usb cable)
So box art is out of the question but like I said just get reading and it might be easier then it looks, who knows
