Just 15 days ago, Richard (MineStorm) posted on this thread that he’ll make Space Pinball carts for anyone and it’s the same deal as Bound High!, so 3 donor carts have to be mailed to him. Thus, I’m sure that the same deal is still on, so if you send him another email saying you also want a Space Pinball cart to be made and also mail him another 3 donor carts, he’ll make your Space Pinball reproduction cart once he gets the donors and will have it out on the way to you.
I also ordered one and am still patiently waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. 🙂
The cabinet with clear glass doors that appears in MAWA’s collection is one of the nicest means I’ve seen to both store and display Virtual Boy games, etc.

Hopefully I can get something like that some time in the future. 🙂
I definitely don’t think that my friend would have gotten his Travel Master case at a small rental store. I don’t even know of any small rental stores around town that would fit the bill, and I do know my friend’s shopping habits pretty good, so I would trust his recollection of buying the system in a Travel Master case at a Toys R Us during the end of the VB’s time in retail stores over the possibility of him buying it at some local rental store.
I should be going over to my friend’s house this Thursday again for a gaming session. I’ll try to remember to take a look at his Virtual Boy again and write down the serial number for you.
Nice case find, by the way.

Lol, i dont know, but someone paid $150 for it!
Dang it! My once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get Virtual Boy Peaches… gone forever. 🙁
One of the things I think an owner of a currently unreleased “prototype” cart should keep in mind is the uncertainty of who else has a “prototype” cart or reproduction cart of the same game and what one of those other people might decide to do with such.
Let’s say one bought a “prototype” cart of an unreleased game. Let’s say one had to pay $3,000.00 for it. The first thing to consider is: how sure are you that what you have is actually a prototype cart in the first place? How do you know that the previous owner didn’t simply have a reproduction cart made that just looks very much like the prototype? Thus, you may own a $3,000.00 prototype cart, or you may simply own a $3,000.00 reproduction cart.
The second thing to consider is: what might others who own the currently unreleased prototype cart or reproduction cart of the same do with their product? If one of them decides to have the game released publicly, you will still be out your $3,000.00 and will still have your “prototype” cart which could possibly be a reproduction cart.
Now I can fully understand why a person who paid a large amount of money for a game won’t simply release it online for free. That would be a very generous and gracious gift indeed. However, if an owner of a prototype cart or reproduction cart, who paid a large amount to acquire such, decides to allow a fundraiser to occur for the release of the game, many good things can result for him or her:
Lots of people each pay an amount for the ROM to be released. Each one gets to decide how much simply playing the game is worth to him or her and pays that amount. Thus, nobody who participates in the fundraiser is ripped off because each one knows what he or she is getting and knows what it is worth to him or her. If the fundraiser reaches the target amount of what the owner of the proto/repro cart paid for the original game, the game is released, the owner is now no longer out the $3,000.00 or so and still has his either very rare prototype cart or else phoney prototype-reproduction cart. If the target amount is not reached, then obviously not enough people care about the game and the community doesn’t deserve to have the game, so the owner keeps the cart and game itself and the people who contributed to the fundraiser get refunded the money, assuming the person who collected the money was a trustworthy middleman. Now in the case of the ROM’s release, the other owners of proto/repro carts of the same game will still be out whatever money they paid and will always have the doubt as to whether or not what they have is genuine, but the one who allowed the fundraiser to occur is out no money, still has a special item, whatever it may be, and has the personal satisfaction of contributing a good part to an elite community. So each owner of such carts must decide: might another jump on this opportunity and/or would it be best for me to jump on this opportunity? Of course, the other danger is that someone else who has a ROM of the game in question might just let it leak for free, in which case everyone with the cart in question is out a lot of money, while the community that did nothing to deserve it is very happy indeed.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

Hi Propane 13,
Send an e-mail to Richard Hutchinson, whose e-mail address, which can be found under his “MineStorm” profile, is:
richard.hutchinson@dsl.pipex.com
In the e-mail, let him know that you would like a reproduction cart of Bound High to be made and that you need to know where to mail the 3 donor carts to. He’ll then give you his mailing address, to which you can mail the 3 donor carts (I always include a note in the package itself about what the donor carts are for and where to mail the reproduction cart(s) to).
It’s then just a matter of waiting a short time for your Bound High reproduction cart to arrive at your house. If you want a box to go with it, I’d recommend adding your name to the list in the “Bound High – Box + Manual – Order Here” thread, as this is a rare opportunity to get a really nice-looking box at an affordable price to go along with the reproduction cart.
Happy VB gaming! 🙂

I’ve only been following Virtual Boy on Ebay for 9 months so far, but in that amount of time, I can definitely say that the above list pretty accurately reflects the last 9 months. Travel Master definitely belongs in the number 1, since I never actually got to see one in that time period until it was already removed. I only ever saw 1 boxed performance soft case in that amount of time, which I purchased. I thought I saw 1 Mosaic promo JPN tap in that amount of time, but when I bought it I found that the Japanese seller was simply using a picture of the promo tap to sell his regular taps, which frustrated me a bit. I have probably seen a couple sealed adapter sets from Mexico and a couple boxed Performance adapters in that amount of time. After that, things do start to increase a bit from there. Although, I think I’ve seen more loose Performance soft cases in the last nine months than NIB headphones. After that, the other items become so much more numerous that I’d have a hard time determining which ones I’ve seen more of as compared to the others.

I remember a Post about the new game Zaku for the lynx..can’t seem to find it the post. I’ve been going thru my things and I’m finding a ton of lynx stuff. A lot of games (some hard to find)..a pretty good collection. Just to save room I’m thinking about getting rid of most of it. Just keeping a few games and a system. I’m not looking at making money or anything at all..this is just a space saving thing. If anyone’s interested just let me know.
If by some miracle you have any of the following games for the Atari Lynx and actually want to get rid of them, send me a PM and we can make a deal! 🙂
Bubble Trouble
Fat Bobby
Hyperdrome
Krazy Ace Miniature Golf
Plus, if you still have the box and instruction manual for Zaku and want to get rid of it, too, I’ll definitely purchase that from you.
Well, I must admit that my friend’s memory hasn’t shown itself to be the greatest in the past (if he ever reads this thread, hopefully he won’t take it personally, since I think he can readily admit that his memory isn’t the best at all times). Thus, there is still a possibility that he didn’t get the case at a Toys R Us that used to be in the Indiana Mall. Nevertheless, that is what he remembers and holds to to this day, so I have to post that as his response. Also, he doesn’t remember any box or cover around the case when he got it; it was just the case. Actually, when he was telling me about how he got the case, he did throw out the possibility that he got it at Blockbuster, before he then concluded that he got it at Toys R Us at the mall. So maybe it was among the other Virtual Boy hard cases at Blockbuster when Blockbuster put out all of their VB items for sale.
That Jaguar case is, indeed, very nice.

I’m almost done with recreating this file. I’m doing it in Corel so it will be perfectly scalable.
Sweet. I was hoping that you’d be working on a box for Space Pinball. The Bound High one is completely awesome.
TheForce81, thanks again for posting this, and is that a reference to Yoda’s Episode II quote of “Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart.” It’s actually one of the few times when he structured a sentence normally. 😉

Forgot to say I’m making Japanese labels & box for this, the Flashboy and Bound High! if people are interested.
Been stupidly busy and have had to put them off but the template is pretty much together now.
I would definitely be interested in getting a box for Space Pinball. When you say “Japanese” box, does that mean that the box will reflect the style of the boxes for the Japanese Virtual Boy games but have English text, or will all the text be in Japanese as well? Or could there be 2 versions, one in Japanese and one in English?
Here are some photos of my friend’s Travel Master case. I asked him about it again last night, and I was apparently mistaken about him getting it at Hills or Ames. He got it at a Toys R Us that used to be in the mall of Indiana, PA.

Ben, you could probably use Red Dragon’s cheat finder to manipulate the score to get there faster.
True, but where would the fun be in that? 🙂
Does anyone have screenshots of Mario Clash being beaten? I can’t imagine that too many people will ever be able to accomplish this, so it would be really neat to have such screenshots posted online for everyone to see. I’ve tried searching for some online and can’t find any at all. I hope to make screenshots of each of the 100,000 point increments some time in the near future, but I don’t know if I’ll ever reach the 999,990 or 999,999 point mark that “beats” the game.
VirtualJockey wrote:
With the community at heart, it would be amazing if you can jog his memory as of where he got the case itself.
From what he could remember, it either came from “Ames” or “Hills,” both of which were local retailers in the area that only had small sections in their stores that focused on video games. The Travel Master case was simply put out for sale on clearance along with the remaining systems and games near the end of the Virtual Boy’s life in retail stores. He’s pretty sure that it didn’t come in a box, so just the case was put out for sale.

Haha, I have a bunch of carts coming tomorrow for the exact same thing. However, that label really needs clearing up. I’ll have a go and repost if people want that option.
If you can clear up and re-post Virtual Jockey’s scan, that would be great. I like that the title doesn’t cover over the artwork.
Thanks so much for the scans, guys! I definitely hope to order my reproduction cart from Richard now, just need to acquire some more poor Mario’s Tennis carts that are going to be eliminated forever.
Well, I can honestly say that I know someone else who owns the Travel Master case. He’s actually been one of my closest friends for over 17 years. He got a Virtual Boy, carrying case, and several games way back when they were still in stores but on clearance and ready to leave stores forever. He tried to get me interested in the Virtual Boy back then, but I was still in high school with not much funds, so I ignored the Virtual Boy and continued to do so for many years until just this past one. It wasn’t until this past year, after I became interested in the Virtual Boy, that I then asked him what all he had in Virtual Boy regard. He then went to his closet and pulled out none other than the Travel Master case with his Virtual Boy and several games. I told him how rare of an item it is, and he thought it was pretty neat that he had a rare item all these years, but he has no desire to sell it. He also doesn’t have much desire in the Virtual Boy at all. I can’t get him to play it, but I’ve been thinking about ordering another FlashBoy and giving it to him as a gift. Then perhaps we can do some “bargaining,” since he wants me to play so many computer games that I could care less about and I want him to play Virtual Boy games which he could care less about. This way, if I give him a FlashBoy and all released ROMs, I can say, “I’ll play this computer game with you sometime if you can give me evidence that you’ve played this Virtual Boy game,” etc. I hope my plan works. 🙂

If TheForce81 is OK with me doing it, I’m willing to make it into a cart.Same deal as Bound High – 3 donors.
I can’t find a nice picture of the Space Pinball prototype cover art on this site or anywhere else online. Perhaps Virtual Jockey or someone else who has a nice picture of the cover art could put a high quality scan of it on this thread, for anyone to use who will be getting a reproduction cart from Richard.
