Speaking of screws, even the “extra long” gamebits don’t fit down inside the deep holes on the VB. Wish I had a dremel….

Cases?! You don’t mean dust covers right? That’s news to me…. When the VB came out, they DID make several different kinds of cases for it, there were the Blockbuster cases, and some other third party ones, but I’ve never heard of game cases….

Yeh, I’m with Tauwasser. I actually like learning programming languages, and thought about learning programming for the VB, but I have yet to learn any C, and assembly is confusing. I understand it, but it’s a pain. And also, I can’t seem to find a decent EPROM programmer for under $20. I don’t want to spend $50 on something I won’t use all that often. (Although I’ve also considered NES and SNES dev…)

Also, I’m just not that big on forums. I prefer IRC, but it’s usually pretty empty here compared to some other sites.

Anyway so yeah… I’ve often thought it’s slow here, but that’s only in comparison to some bigger sites. This is definitely one of the better fansites I’ve seen though. As far as design and everything goes, I give it a 10.

Actually, while we’re on the subject, a lot of my friends had never seen a VB before I got mine. Sad eh? 🙁

Well, even if it never is released, I’ll rest easier knowing there’s a backup dump somewhere. I still want to know where he got it though. 😀

And yeah, I want to see Zero Racers too. I just wish Nintendo (and other companies) wouldn’t destroy everything when they kill games. I hate how much stuff has been lost like that.

Oh, right, I forgot about the Galactic Pinball and protos like that. 😀 I meant the only proto of an unreleased VB game ever found.

Okay,
I finally got around to testing to see if the batteries are good by using the controller on my good Virtual Boy and they are. The good Virtual Boy starts up fine. The only reason I didn’t test that sooner is that the batteries are almost dead, and I haven’t played my good VB in a while.

Also, thanks for the info about the DC->DC power supply, DogP. I’ll check that as soon as I can get my VB open. (By the way DogP, even the extra long game bits don’t work with the VB; the holes on either side of the cartridge slot are too deep.) I need to find a friend with a dremel.

On a side note, while I was recently replacing the batteries in my VB, I tried using some Ni-Cad’s and learned from experience that their voltage is insufficient to run a VB. Then I tried mixing them with the old mostly dead batteries (3 regulars, 3 Ni-Cads, etc.) and drained the regular batteries (even though they were mostly dead.) At least, the VB doesn’t turn on when I use them now. I hope I didn’t do anything bad.

Anyway, thanks for the info that I didn’t already know! (I hope I can fix the darn thing. 🙂 )

With only one day left before the Wii launch, it looks like he’s not going to make his goal. He only has $148! Yay!

Of course, now he’s probably going to saw his VB in half and destroy half of it. This just is DUMB if you ask me. Of course, his whole website is dumb… 😛

Hopefully, he will come to his senses, and not destroy his red little friend.

Here’s hoping!

I too find this very sad… Virtual Boys are becoming harder to find and this isn’t helping. Although, my thought was, if he’s going to destroy the main unit, what’s he going to do with the games and accesories? I’m thinking of trying to buy them off him 😀 . And what’s with his recent post of “half destroying it”? How do you half destroy something? If he smashed half of it, it wouldn’t work anyway! Ah well, I grow weary from my ranting. He looked kind of strange in the pictures anyway… I doubt his normalness.

Oh yeah. Read the latest email on his fanmail page. The guy who sent it shares most of our sentiments.
