It seems that anything can be obtained with enough money.

Since nobody’s kind enough to offer up the game, us “regular VB gamers” could each offer up a sum of cash for a public dump and sooner or later, it’ll (hopefully) be enough to attract collectors who would gladly trade the copy for a bunch of dough to buy some rarer beta. Yeah, it does have some faults (people could change their mind about giving, etc). But isn’t it worth a shot?

I currently can afford to offer up 20$, I’m too young for a job, and still have Christmas shopping to do. The beta traded doesn’t even have to be bound high, if somebody had Zero Racers, Faceball, or even the elusive Dragon Hopper, I’m sure 90% of people interested would still donate. If every active person on this site offered a couple dollars, we’d have a fairly large sum of money.

And there’s got to be some collector out there somewhere who could be persuaded to change their mind…

So far, JackFrost and I have offered up 90$, anyone else care to join?

This is a way bit late, but…

I actually played one of these. The game’s not too fun, as you watch pre-recorded video and press buttons at certain places to keep the video rolling. All you do is test your reaction times. the 3-D is OK, the Virtual Boy’s is much better. The game is terribly short, I got to like the second to last level on my first try for 1 credit after about 5-10 minuets or so. There’s a playable one on display at the Strong National Museum of Play in New York, for those of you who live around there.

Sorry for triple posting, but..

I recently got news from the the people hosting this, and, I didn’t win.

Thank you very much, everyone who voted for me so far.

The online voting is over. I’ll let you know what happens ASAP.

Once you translate it, it would be cool if somebody could edit the image to change all the text to English or any other language. I’ll do it, but I’m going on vacation probably the same day you’re getting home.

But a new batch of Flash Boys are coming out…

That’s terrible. Something like that happened to me, only less expensive. A brand new copy of Virtual League Baseball I bought back in early Feburary from half.com hasn’t come yet, and the seller won’t reply to any of my questions, and Paypal hasn’t given me a refund. So what do we learn from this? Don’t buy from a seller called *bigstate*. Ever.

Here an update: I got an e-mail that said I had the best idea with one of my other games, Orbiter, in New York State and now they’re sending me papers to sign for a 1,000$ savings bond and a 100$ Best Buy gift card! I submitted four ideas for the contest, and still, nobody’s told me I’ve won anything with my best game idea. Either I’m good at making games, or, everyone against me had no idea what they were doing.

The online voting for the national winner isn’t over yet, please keep voting! Chroma Cubes could be a real game!

This is pretty nice. I love the random part at the end where the guy is spinning. I have probably watched it 5+ times already. This must have been pretty hard to find. The JP Panic Bomber commercial would be nice to see too, just like all those proto games that got canceled…

i voted for you about 20 times today.

Thank you so much. If I win, I’ll be sure to give you some of the money when the bond finally becomes valid in 2039 (If I can somehow contact you then, and if any of us are still alive after all those times the world is supposed to end in sci-fi movies… :-P).

I voted 35 times for Bonsaido. Sorry Garrison, but imagine being able to make a bonsai tree in the shape of a virtual boy! That would be so awesome!! 😀

Have you heard of Bonsai Barber for WiiWare? It’s out in the US, and I assume where you are too. The game is supposed to be a good game. Here’s some info from IGN:

…Though the goal is to give a five-star professional cut, you can pretty much do whatever you want without the risk of failing. Any cut that you give can be saved with the in-game “camera,” and photos snapped can then be sent to the Wii message board and delivered to friends via WiiConnect 24 or sent to the Photo Channel. Bonsai Barber has a ton of secrets, including an achievement system that features a wide variety of awards to earn. Do well enough and the characters will offer you gifts – in our hands-on we unlocked a flower pot that gave us the ability to practice all sorts of haircuts in a time trial mode….

From that description, it sounds like you can make Virtual Boy trees too.
More info here.

I have to admit the standings do seem strange with the Elephant Adventure leading, but we can change that with voting. I doubt EA (the company who will publish the winning game) will want to make a game about flying elephants who shoot ice cream cones and hamburgers while trying to become a good citizen. My friend told me you can vote as many times as you want on an iPod touch, and the same is probably true on other portable internet capable devices. ;-).

Great job tracking down a Flash Boy!

I don’t have one and have to force myself to open up my sealed games. 🙁

Even if I did, I don’t think the loader runs on macs, anyways.

This problem is all to common.

There are lots of threads about it, here’s one and you can search for others using the search bar near the top.

It also helps once you fix it to have the IPD turned all the way to the left when you’re not going to be using it for a while to stop the problem from coming back.

If you want an original T-shirt (which tend to be quite expensive for a shirt, just to warn you), you have to wait for one to come up on eBay or another website that sells VB stuff, or happen to know someone who worked for Nintendo back when they were given out. I got mine through eBay.

This site also sells shirts, see the link below:

If none of those options fit your tastes, you could make one yourself or have a friend make one for you and buy it through a custom shirt website, such as CafePress.

Wow! That’s cool. It looks just like the VB when the light’s on! 😀

Great find.

Personally, I’d pass it up. I got one brand new factory sealed in perfect condition for only about 40$ on an eBay auction, which I guess is about the average price for the game in complete condition if you buy it through an auction. There’s none on eBay, half.com, or amazon.com right now confirmed with box and manual for cheaper, so, if you can’t wait a while… then go ahead.

I like what you did with the highscores section. You should also change the collection section that they need pictures to get credit for the top ten too.

You should move your ads to the marketplace and add pictures, so when there are a lot more posts people can still access them easily.

That video was pretty funny. I also really liked “Hey It’s Me It’s Trale Lewous”, although that really has nothing to do with Virtual Boy. Maybe Trale Lewous could try to sell Virtual Boys?
