danke!

Warum zweimal derselbe Thread?

Well, I’d place my bets on your first assumption.

Everyboy who wants a new box as a replacemant for the old one: I am trading a fully assembled box for two of your spare carts (loose, but with the dust cover). As a little bonus, I’ll also include a Quick Reference Card, which older FlashBoys did not come with. PM me, if anyone’s interested. 🙂

You’re already at the source, my friend. 😉 Games > Released > [game] > Multimedia > Audio. If we don’t have what you need, the best way to record stuff yourself is through the VB’s headphone out. Of course, games played on the FlashBoy work (and sound) exactly the same as original games. I mean, why shouldn’t they?

If you record and/or remix anything, please don’t forget to submit that stuff. 🙂

Cool avatar, btw!

One more delay, we are trying out new, shiny, better looking cart labels. Due to that (and busy real life), I expect Batch 6 to be ready in 2 weeks.
Sorry for the delays guys, but we want to make sure that you get the best package possible. 🙂

Still working on the game, Chris?

I have just tested the game on my FlashBoy. Nothing to complain really, it plays exactly like on Reality Boy, and the speed is perfect. 🙂

Here’s photos of a finished box. The size is exactly the same as a retail game box, and the cart sleeve works nicely. 🙂

Yes, it’s possible. Due to the big interest we’ll probably continue making them for another while. But maybe you’ll be lucky and get one from the current batch. I will put your name on the list and let you know when your FlashBoy is ready.

A FlashBoy is 85 Euro, shipping to the Netherlands is 5 Euro (incl. 20 Euro insurance) or 17 Euro (full insurance).

150? Krass.

And now we want to switch back to english, so everybody can understand us, right? 🙂

I can’t make the list public, but everybody who told me he wants a FlashBoy is on it, and you can ask me personally where on the list you are. But it really is a lottery, because you never know how many people change their mind. 😉 Well, I assume that everybody, whos on my list at the moment, (a bit over 20) will get a FlashBoy from Batch 6.

BTW, if anyone has some spare loose carts (with dust covers) or loose dust covers to donate for (a) possible future batch(es), I’d really appreciate that. 🙂

I currently have 40 box prints, so I can send you guys some for a few bucks a piece. Shipping will be the more expensive part, costing 6 EUR.

The white thing is a cart holder, a replacement for that bulky official one. The thought was to glue it to the inside of the box and put the cart in it, this way I will only need loose carts for future flashboys (= a bit cheaper). I have not build a box yet, though, so I am not sure if this really works. I will post pics of a built box soon.

About the warning… I just don’t want to get sued by people who don’t get the joke. 😉

on the weekend or earlier, but i will only have a handful of units completely finished, because i still need more pcbs and cart stickers for the others.

d’oh, i had to push back building the boxes to the next weekend.

the vb artwork was made by a japanese guy whose name i can’t remember right now. he made a lot of those icons, which you can find all over the web now.

hm, i could get more boxes made, if you people want replacements for your older flashboy boxes?

cool! how did you take them? do you own a stereo camera? i have no glasses here to view them right now, unfortunately.

Very nice, thanks Spindick (and Garrison)! I will now need to find a good way to include translated articles on the page. You can find high res scans of other articles here:
http://www.vr32.de/modules/articles/?s159001 (18 pages, high res)
http://www.vr32.de/modules/articles/?s162002 (2 pages, very low res)
🙂

the first half of units had home printed stickers over vl baseball boxes, while the last half had boxes printed directly on cardboard by a copy shop. those new ones had much better colors but the corners did not looks perfect, because they broke a bit from the folding. this box looks like an older one to me, but i could also be mistaken.

different chips were used for older and newer carts, because the old chips ones were no longer available at one point. there’s different revisions of the flashboy, and there’s different loader versions which only work with one version of the flashboy.

vbfreak’s right. you can find all the apps and the manual for download here (follow the links in the bottom right):
http://www.vr32.de/modules/hardware/index.php?type=flashcarts&v=fb

looks like you have an older unit, so make sure to use loader version 20071209.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

For everyone else: I expect the next batch to be ready in about 2 weeks. It will include new, revamped boxes. More when those arrive next week.
