believe it or not the trick works, just go to “Top Score” wait a second and press up up down down left left right right B and then A and bingo! ¡the message to erase data will appear, do not click the links but the trick works even if you don’t believe it

I totally missed this back in November. It’s really rare that new, undocumented features are discovered in Virtual Boy games! So, even though there are a few other ways to erase save data, this is a very cool find! 🙂

Have been considering this, too. I think the best way would be to have a classified ads section on the site where every member can post ads to buy, sell or trade Virtual Boy stuff. It would function sort of like a shop and should be a much cleaner and more visible way for people to offer their stuff.

For example, Kevin could use it as a store front for his products like HyperFlash32, NES Freak could offer his repair services, eventually we can sell our TeamVUEngine games there and of course it would be a good way to sell authorized CIBs of homebrew games.

Furthermore, if it’s not PVB itself that is offering stuff for sale, but users doing private business without any mediation fees, then this can stay a non-commercial site and I won’t have to look into the legal side, pay taxes on it and shit. 😉

That’s great and a good choice for the default labels IMHO. I like these. 🙂

Just one remark: the L shaped block on the V-Tetris label is wrong, it should consist of only 4 of these small squares.

Here’s that font. Made from the VIRTUAL BOY logo on the official adjustment screen. Most likely too large for the HyperFlash display, but I’ll post it here anyway, and be it only for archival purposes. 😉

I love these! If I ever find the time to learn VUEngine and get back into VB dev, my games will all have a label based on this

Thank you, RunnerPack! It would be awesome to see you back in virtual business! Let me know when you fancy to get into VUEngine so we can set you up with the latest tools. 🙂

Congrats everybody! I hope to see more quality labels produced in the future, so we can compile complete sets of labels for all commercial and homebrew games. 🙂

Forgot to post my label template BTW, so here it is.

Tried to come up with something as well. The black text on the bottom is meant to be printed by the firmware, filename probably?

EDIT: Changed from an equally distributed to the suggested palette.

Nice find! Thanks for the scan! 🙂

Some years ago, I found the personal website of a Japanese game developer who claimed to have worked on Dragon Hopper. After my own attempts to get in touch remained fruitless, I asked a native Japanese speaker to try their luck and send a message. Haven’t heard of them anymore afterwards, I think, and the website no longer exists.

Is that some original music you composed in the background? Sounds pretty nice!

Wow RMZK, your entry is awesome! Morintari’s Galactic Pinball one as well. 🙂

There are many other good ones, but crisp original artworks like these are quite the eye catcher IMHO.

Awesome Hedgetrimmer!

Hey Martin! I got my VBs solder fixed by TheForce81, based in the Netherlands. Great guy, recommended! https://www.planetvb.com/modules/usercenter/index.php?section=profile&uid=1229

Woah! Is it for the final version? Did anybody else get an email? I did not and am wondering if it did not get through my spam filter.

That’s awesome, finally fully custom made carts are possible! Looks really good for a 3D print. I hope that cheaper pins can be found to make this thing an affordable alternative to donor carts. 🙂

Maybe 7 or 8 years ago (?), before prices skyrocketed, a guy posted a listing on ebay with a VB and “Mario’s Dream Tennis.” I wrote to say the proper title was Mario’s Tennis, and he responded that “this one says Mario’s Dream Tennis.” For some reason, I didn’t follow up and bid. Not sure what I was thinking. Can’t even recall if I checked the closing price.

That was most likely just a regular Mario’s Tennis cart with a Blockbuster sticker that had the working title on it. I had one once. Found a photo here: https://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=6993&post_id=39477#forumpost39477

Wow mate, that is an ingenious design! So, if I got that right, you have _three_ PCBs in there, counting in the bottom and top sides of the cart which are basically one-sided PCBs? So you won’t even need any molds but can get the case done by the board house, then hold it all together with that 3D printed frame.

Besides the brilliant construction, I obviously love the e-ink display and embedded buttons which make this an “almost-multi cart”. ;-D

Gotte run, but will post some news about this later today.

Looks nice, but your font is 6×6 pixels per character, while tiles on the Virtual Boy are 8×8 pixels, so it is not really useable unfortunately. At least there would be a lot of whitespace around the characters (or blackspace, rather :vb:).
