it’s here…

I’d be more than happy to – but I didn’t think Richard was building any more? To me these are like history though, so I’d like them even if there are no more flashboys.

Krisse, can you send me a PM with how much you’re looking for?

Thanks

Are the pics all dead?
I can’t see them they all look like broken links 🙁

the bid jumped from 110 to 250 euros just like that??

You can play VB on the TV easily via the Wii emulator, sure it’s not 3D, but not many have 3D TVs these days yet.

I’ve had a few friends of mine play the Virtual Boy out of curiosity and they loved it. I think it’s because it’s so unique and has that red and black charm.

One of them was whistling Bound High! music within the hour without even realising it. 🙂

To me VGA grading is all just about resale value. Get a game, grade it up, list it at a stupid price. At least that’s what happens for the most part, which is what it is. Nothing wrong with making a return on a hobby but it detracts from the fun of collecting for the wider community, which is why people hate it.

VGA do grade games not sealed though. They’ll grade used prototypes for example.

Just so you know though, they’re no authority – it’s one guy that takes a look at the games and sticks a number on and sends back. Nothing ever gets 100, which is silly as well. 100 should represent the max quality of a new game. I could get a new game and send it straight in, it’d never get 100 (people made this test).

You can probably tell I’m not a fan. If it was just about preservation, people would just order the cases right? The only real effect it has had is that the prices of new games have gone through the roof. I only really collect new hardware, so I’ve escaped it more or less.

– Mawa – everything is detailed on their website, just give it a quick google and you’re set.

Yeah we use commas here for thousand denominators, but everywhere else in Europe uses decimal points and commas vice-versa I believe.

Don’t worry Ben, it wasn’t a genuine bid and I am sure you can win this auction without Wind-Waker tactics 🙂

9.000 Euros!

yes faceball is available on other formats

I think there is some miscommunication with the language barrier. I would never expect the ROM to be shared ‘just like that’ but I would hope that we could collectively generate enough money for the owner to release it. This way, he gets that cash to reimburse for the costs of the game and we get to play it too.

Either that, or we could buy the cart itself as we did with Bound High!

I think these points need to be communicated by someone literate in Japanese and English (Ben?), otherwise the finer details will be lost in translation.

I for one, appreciate the details on this site even if the game will not be released.
Faceball is available on other formats so I’m easily able to enjoy the graphics and sound, if we could see a video.

Hi Mr.G! We’ve been looking for an owner of this game for a long time, thankyou for coming here to tell us about it.

Did you acquire it recently, or have you had it for a long time? I am guessing you are Japanese, thankyou for making the effort to post here in english so that we can share these imrpessions. 🙂

This is really shit. I’ve been saving up for ‘the big four’ repros, guess that’s over then.
What an asshole..(not you Rich!)

It’s one of those games you might have played as a kid, looks LCD, just a head-mounted display.

What’s the second, a low resolution video display?
Looks too old to work with current hardware, but worth a punt.

Some favourites of mine are:

Streets of Rage 2 – great ending cinematic montage

Street Fighter 2′ – love the no continues special reel remix

The music was best on the arcade version of course:

Revenge of Shinobi – I love the music all through, the ending is special:

Shinobi III’s is even more special:

I even like the beta’s ending:

Gimmick! – absolutely beautiful famicom game, lots of charm:

Starfox ending – great roundup of all you’ve gone through:

But I think this might be my favourite of all these (more to follow):
Mickey & Donald World of Illusion – easy but amazing game:

I know a guy that overclocks Starfox carts – makes a good difference to the gameplay. Not sure how possible it would be, or how much crossover for something like Red Alarm.

Worst recent game I played would be Oblivion. I was less than impressed by Skyrim too.

Worst game ever? I’d have to go with E.T.
So bad, it nearly crashed the industry altogether.

I would happily just write “VB”, but if there was an actual emoticon for the VB, I’d go for this:

B<

I think that’s just a ‘witty’ caption, but to be fair any forced focus 3D is generally not good for your eyes, not even stereoscopes and especially not 3D visors. It’s that tricked 3D all in focus that gives you a headache.

Having said that, the only VB game that gave me a headache was Panibon and I’ll never play that again anyway.

This one?
Sounds like you looked at the US not for resale demo cartridge?
