I’m the same, I’m wondering if it was applied to this Super Famicom game in error? I’ve not seen them used on anything but VB goods.
I really enjoyed the review – even though it has spoilers for the boss and endings!
Must finish this game off soon – I’m in the mansion with all collectibles found so far.
Interesting that your demo box is stickered – it’s my estimated assumption that Nintendo didn’t have a clear process of applying these stickers before they were sent out. My boxed demo unit has no such sticker and they’re all clearly applied by hand, with the placement pretty much guessed form what I can tell (uneven, different corners etc.).
Still, I find this rather interesting. Nintendo samples at present don’t have any differences and I’ve not seen these used for N64 or Gamecube games (again, not looked either).
What’s more, someone has tried to remove this sticker and soon after changed their mind, maybe the store clerk or perhaps just a subsequent buyer, who knows.
I was pleased to find this but as it’s now documented, I’d be willing to let it go for the right price or a trade, should someone really want it. Some collectors here are totally hardcore and want everything VB-related, so maybe there’s some desire for this item. I’ve not seen another but will have a dig around. It could have been applied in error for all I know. I’ve never seen them on anything other than VB store demo items, which makes sense as Nintendo didn’t have confidence in the system and would have put it out before making final orders, gauging consumer excitement and feedback – packaging changes as one example of implementing this feedback (I’m assuming).
I only use the JP carts personally, apart from a loose Warioland US cart I have. I’m no Japanophile, but man that US art is ugly. I can’t bear it.
Did you get your Flashboy yet? You HAVE to play Bound High! asap – it’s th best demo of what makes the VB special in my opinion.
I see he does a VB to USB kit, plus a USB to GC cable, could they be used together?
Are you serious? The VB isn’t ven two-player – it’s quite clear they’re not being at all serious about this…
Nice to see the VB getting some love though 😉
Seeing stuff like this makes me feel a bit sick:

I think best bet would be a homemade cardboard box in another box for protection if you need it. Heck, you could even make a smaller size box if you really wanted?
Mine’s this I reckon:
Shinobi was such a great game once I finally ‘got it’
Best way I know of is basically emulation via a PC hookup, or grab a Wii and use the emulator for VB that way (it looks great by the way).
Alas, there is no TV out signal on the VB etc.
I don’t know why people charge so much for them, it’s actually easy stuff, just take the insert apart, measure up and mark a template with cut and clue lines. They’re always designed for one sheet as it’s cheap and easy to manufacture.
Heck, they even use standard card that you can buy from any art / office supplies shop so its easy and cheap to make authentic ones.
I hadn’t mentioned this before, but something I’ll be doing on my Bound High insert is printing some extra info and maybe a small Chalvo image on there with a PlanetVB URL etc.
Doesn’t usually happen for cost reasons, but why the heck not? Repros aren’t impacted as much on packaging cost that retail games are, so I think it’s ok to play with the authenticity balance in those kinds of ways every now and then.
I’ll take one apart and post a template if needed.
I’m back on VB projects this weekend and picking up the Chalvo art among other things.
I think you and your family are in all of our hearts and minds right now. Stay strong, know you’re in our prayers.
VB Demo / Mosaic first edition going cheap:

[don’t forget about shipping and taxes though]
How about Virtual-On in wireframe mode?!
The VB has two d-pads after all 🙂
Take a look here, it’s possible on the Super Gameboy and Super Gameboy 2:
http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Game_Boy
“players can assign their own colors by accessing either the Color Palette Window or the Custom Color Window. The Color Palette Window allows the player choose one of 32 different system color palettes, while the Custom Color Window let’s the player adjust the color palette available. A password system at the top of the Custom Color Window saves the changes to the color palette.”
I need to get this setup soon, I could have hours of fun with that alone.
Having said that, you could ’emulate’ the experience by getting a SuperGameboy and creating your own palette, or creating your own palette for the PC GB/GBC emulators relatively easily.
I haven’t seen one of these before – can someone clarify?
There’s a lot of activity on it, with 6 days left even:
[EDIT]
Oh, I see it’s part of this demo contents:

What are they worth??
I’ve not played Insmouse actually, but really like the idea of making a special version of it.
What does FWIW mean?
For what I want(ed)?
For what it’s worth?
I’d be prepared to pay that, plus margin, plus shipping, assuming it come in a box with all the essentials like the flashboy did.
Hopefully lack of donor parts will keep costs down.
