“This is a NTSC-J Game”

I think not – as it’s not played on a TV…

According to this the price is too high, but how often do you come across this game?

I’ve been checking the price page you mention and I don’t agree too much with their prices. The problem is what you mention of “how often do you come across this game?”. Price in these kind of games is based exclusively on offer-demand, so for example, SD Gundam for less than 400 euro is a bit too cheap IMO, since you don’t come across Gundam too often.

Back to Insmouse, it depends on how much you want to complete your collection. I’d buy it for that price if I didn’t have it.

just be glad you are able to play the game. if it wasn’t for it leaking out one way or another…

I never said I wasn’t able to play the game before the ROMs were publicly available for download, I just meant that sometimes you get more by respecting other’s ideas than with money… but for this “all4respect” to work, you have to do it right from the beginning.

Of course, I’m glad that people can finally play BH even if it’s a buggy version, as I’m happy that they can play the 4 extremely rare games with flashboy too. But I can’t avoid thinking that with more respect regarding extremely rare ROMs, prototypes and such, it would have been better.

its not really a bummer. i’m cool with it. climbing the collector’s ladder isn’t free, my friend. eventually you’re going to have to leave your catty comments to yourself.

Hello från Spanien. Jag förstår inte svenska. Lyckligtvis för mig, verkar Google Translator ganska bra 🙂 Detta “googlesvenska” verkar ganska bra! 😀

Is this “good version” you claim to have the same version you tried to sell me last month, which you said was a cart dump, and which you said you’d never offered to anyone else?

It is, and at the time I hadn’t offered it to anyone else. I certainly wouldn’t be giving it to some guy on craigslist, I can tell you that much. Keep that stuff in the community. I’ve since found out its not a cart dump and that I paid $3000k for a compiled game 8-O. At least it runs perfectly.

Mmmm, I have this offer in my mail too…

This was quite usual in Spain 20 years ago, when instead of Nintendo there was an official dealer. The Spanish instructions were crappy photocopies in A4/legal paper. It’s something similar to that French vb instruction booklet found in Canada some months ago.

Then it’s not him, so I can’t help. Thx.

Thanks for the help Matthew, you’re right. That exact thing is in AVGN’s collection, I watched the Bugs Bunny video and there it was. I’m trying to get ahold of him, but he is apparantly horrible at getting back to people who try to contact him through his site. So I may still be on my own on this search.

Thanks again!

OMG, the guy at the right with the guitar and the hat seems to be an old friend of mine from school! He lives in Canada nowadays. Do you know if the pic was taken there?

Someone tried selling it? On ebay or privately? Someone from here?

Yes, it was here in the forums a while back. This is the link:

The game seems in excellent condition, congratulations. I think the Ninntenndo typo was on the cart, but I’m not 100% sure. I’ll check it as soon as I can. Anyway, enjoy your collection. I know it’s a great feeling every time you increase it 🙂

I don’t know what it’s called, but I guess what you are looking for is a kind of holographic effect. I don’t know how to get it to work, but I guess there are businesses out there which make holograms with whatever image/text you want. It might help searching for “hologram creation” in google. Good luck!

The Japanese VBs are somewhat more rare depending on where you look. They are somewhat uncommon on eBay, but not really rare.

Also, I just thought I’d let you know that Jap is seen as a derogatory term. I realize you were using it for region names and had no ill intentions, but just so you know.

Thumbs up for letting us know about the “Jap” thingie. I didn’t know it was derogatory and in fact I used it for region names as you say. From now onwards, I will use Japan to distinguish videogames coming from that side of the world 😎

Heh, and what does this shoot? Teleroboxers? 😀

Hey DaytonaUSA, nice to hear you got the game. It is clear you dealt with the right people, a bit lazy with shipping, but right nonetheless. It remembers me of when I got Final Fantasy 3 US version for my SNES. The game took three months to arrive, and since I did it through UGTZ and the seller never got back to me, I thought the game would never arrive.

As for how to load games to your flashboy, I think the apps to load and pad the roms is in vr32 for download, but it works only in windows afaik. It is worth trying. Enjoy your “new toy” 🙂

DaytonaUSA, if I were you I would wait for KR155E to make a new batch. I am sure that since there have been a few requests he will make it 🙂

Yeah, I have a space invaders that has track and confirm saying it was delivered to my house and it isn’t. It says “delivered on 5/16/09” but I never got it. Does this happen often? I’m probably out a lot of money. sucks!

Maybe you should ask your neighbours and the post office, so that they show you the signature of the person who supposedly got it. I have had some lost packages, not many though (2 out of more than 150 deals throughout the world), but whenever I get a “delivered” package and it’s not in my house, it’s in my neighbour’s house.

As for the “bad experience”, my bad experience was with a British guy called Michael Starkey and an SD Gundam + Virtual Bowling deal 😐 . If you want details (plus how he tried to scam again through eBay using a different nickname one year later), search through all the vr32 forums and you’ll learn them (I think it was more than two years ago…). As you see, it can be much worse (and I’m sure many people have been scammed much more than I was). I learnt from it that it’s the risk you take when you want extremely rare items. Therefore, you have to weigh all the factors involved in a transaction very carefully before taking a decision, or you could find yourself having to pay much more than what you expected at first.

Something curious act that the Virtual Boy second hand market has been one of the most risky (riskiests?) I’ve ever met when trying to grab extremely rare items. Maybe it’s just because I only collect Virtual Boy, and it happens the same with Neo Geo or other systems… Anyway, just do your best to make sure you’re dealing with the right people before paying anything 😉

Well, there is at least one Blox cart in existence. In fact it’s the one you can see in my avatar. I got a friend to make it for me as a personal favour. It plays exactly the same as the ROM when loaded onto the Flashboy, so just consider it as another game in my collection. I prefer actual tangible carts than ROMs in my collection.

No problem at all sharing the Blox art to make the box, instruction manual and cart labels for you to make it. I used a Vertical Force (Jap) box, since it’s mainly black and goes perfectly with the images I made. You will have to find someone who makes the cart for you though, since I don’t have the knowledge to make them myself. Enjoy!

well I have a official virtual boy mario demo but will probably never realease it

Heh, now you can expect a few “release da ROM mate, com’on my friend.”… 😛

If I had to guess, I would say it is the broken version that does not work in real hardware from level 2 onwards…
