Seriously, please….chill out and stop the “fear of” things.

Anyway, congrats on buying some new VB games, you got a great deal on them, especially being boxed. 🙂

Can you believe I don’t actually have a Virtual Boy?

You’re a real heartbreaker, DaVince. 😯 🙁

Hey, the VB doesn’t require maintenance as long as it isn’t broken. 😛

Unfortunately with the poor economy and hard times, I’ve had to sell off a lifetimes worth of games. I still have a boat load of 2600 stuff, some Neo-Geo prototypes, and a few arcade cabs in storage but everything else had to go. I’m currently focused on VB only, and will probably get back into the Neo-Geo money-pit when I’m financially more stable again.

Stuff is just stuff, I’m willing to sell anything if I absolutely need to, to pay bills or have food on the table.

All a person needs in life is a home, a car, a job, food, and a Dragon Hopper prototype. 😉

a Nester’s Funky Bowling huge display box!

has anyone here ever seen such a thing?

Very cool box, I won it. Who were the other two high rollers bidding against me?

With my luck, 50 of these things will pop up on eBay in the next year. 😛

I hope you can get Warioland soon. It is a great game, whether you’re a fan of Wario or not. I, for one, don’t really like the direction they’re taking the character, lately.

it seemed smaller than that… like a Gameboy Micro inches away from my nose… maybe I was doing something wrong 🙁

It’s probably all right. It’s impossible for your VB to have a defect that would make the images smaller but look perfect otherwise…

That could only happen if someone replaced the lenses inside the system, which would be unheard of and highly unlikely 😛

Are you wearing thick prescription glasses or something?

Well that would be odd if someone replaced the lenses and called it a supposedly “unused” Virtual Boy, because why would they change the lenses if they don’t even know if the screen is good or bad? 😛

and no, I don’t have any glasses

Do you have a measuring tape? Could you stare into your VB, with Marios tennis going, and then whip out your measuring tape and tell us about how many inches wide the screen appears to be for you?

My apologies for the emu comment, but the only time I’ve seen a VB with a GB size screen is on EMU.

All 3 of my virtual boys display a 9″ wide screen, 6.5″ tall, and about 1′ 4″ depth to my eyes.

If it makes you feel better, my only “brand new, unused” Virtual boy I bought recently had a left glitchy eye within one day of owning it.

Congrats on playing your VB.

I’m not sure what to say about your screen, be sure to adjust your focus slider and pupil distance knob properly.
When I play my VB, it gives me the perception that I’m looking at a roughly 9″ wide by 6 1/2″ tall screen at about a perceived distance of 1′ 4″ or 1″ 5′ from the screen.

Are you sure you played your Virtual Boy Console, and NOT the Reality Boy or Red Dragon Emulator?…

Do you own a stereoscopic 3D Television, seen any recent 3D movies at your theater, or have an Nvidia 3D-Vision PC setup?

If not, I think you’re in for a neat surprise with VB. For the love of God, please play it.

With every new post you make without playing your VB yet, I fart blood.

Hey everyone,

Glad you like the price of the case, we try to keep our prices as low as possible. As for pictures being worth a thousand words, on one hand we know that and are working our butts off to revise the site so that all of our stuff can feature pictures…

HOWEVER, when the average item that you sell is less than $5, our plan is to only show good label stuff. We have very exacting standards for what those are, and therefore we’re sure that we won’t have to keep taking pictures of stuff. For poor label stuff, generally I don’t expect I’ll be taking pictures, as we carry over 100,000 items, and unless I can do this full time (right now, it’s a hobby) I simply don’t have enough time to take pictures of and figure out where each different copy of Pac-Man or whatever went. Sorry.

As for the case though, the inside is great. The label has some minor rips in it too, probably that a nickel could cover up, directly to the right of the Virtual Boy logo on it. There is also a very minor nick directly below the letter R.

The inside looks great.

Compared to a LOT of these cases that I have seen, this one is one of the better ones — but, unless it is flawless it gets listed as “poor”. Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting it. If you ever have questions, do feel free to contact us, I’m happy to pull something out and describe it in detail whenever I can 🙂 And glad people are looking at us for Virtual Boy stuff! We’re doing our best to keep it stocked and cheap, although it’s definitely a challenge!

Thanks for the description. 100,000 items in inventory is hardly a hobby shop, and I still feel that any “poor” condition item that you’re selling for $75 deserves a pic more than an excellent condition item you’re selling for less than that. I’d maybe judge used items that deserve a pic by your cost, and not condition. It’s your store, run it how you like, I’m just giving honest feedback. Once again, $75 is a fair price for your case. I’m not arguing with you there. Do your thing, have fun, but consider adding pics of used poor condition items if they demand a collector’s price. Best of luck with your business, plenty of people vouch for you here. 🙂

An additional 65 Euro donation sent. You’re a good guy KR155E, thanks for keeping the community alive.

He paid 6 Euro to ship my box, paid 3 euro for the flashboy box itself, packed it well in a secure cardboard box, and went out of his way to pack it up and ship it to me. packing materials and handling not mentioned.

This is a great guy here, please donate to PVB as a thanks for your everything you have enjoyed here. KR155E is paying out of his pocket so we can have this community, help the guy out if you can spare a few bucks here or there. 🙂

Were the problems displayed on the screen *always* in the same place? Clean the pinout on the console, and of course, clean the pins on each game. Cut down a credit card to GB shape, wrap a cloth/shirt/old sock around it, put rubbing alcohol on said cloth and insert it in/out of the cartridge slot.

The Cadmium cups quotes were in jest. My comment about your gender, and possible age was to give people an idea to maybe lay it easy on you.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you could do today.

Play your VB.

Don’t you ever wonder why we’re all here? VB isn’t some black and red retro gameboy to us. When I was a kid, frankly until my adult life, VB was my first stereoscopic experience. It’s not like 2 Dimensional VS 3 Dimensional of SNES vs Panasonic 3DO / Sony PS1. Some things appear closer, other things appear farther. I was just barely 13 years old when I got my Virtual boy in 1995, it was very exciting.

So far you haven’t ever played virtual boy ever, named your virtual boy, and over the past few days have still refused to play it, yet posting on forums that you want to own every game but refuse to play your virtual boy because there was a bug in a box or because it may be cursed.

Was I not one of the first to greet you in a friendly and welcoming fashion? Please return the respect and discuss the topic for the forum you joined aside from 100% speculation and 100% jokes.

Sorry to be so serious, but the responses to your posts show that you have currently been heading down a rocky path.

We all love Gunpey Yokoi, but we love him because we have fun playing and love the Virtual boy.

I’m not a mod here. I’m not even frustrated. You can talk about clowns riding giraffes for all I care and I wouldn’t be mad. (Someone please make a topic on that)
It’s just, can you understand…at all…why people here want to discuss Virtual Boy and not spider-curses?
Please enjoy the Virtual Boy, and discuss the virtual boy that you enjoy playing. Until then, take care.

lol.

NEW YORK — Among the recalled items this week are McDonald’s drinking glasses with Shrek figures on them containing cadmium in the paint

Ingesting cadmium is even worse than lead. Cadmium is a known carcinogen that can cause brain damage and kidney failure.

Oh geez! Shrek glasses from McDonalds contain Medal Cadmium! and I drank out of mine!

Just play your VB, gunpeyyokoifan. Enjoy your stay on the forums, but I just think people would prefer your posts to be more relevant, rational, and have lucid topics.

I understand that you’re a girl, we have no idea of your age (which could be a rational explanation). Being silly/joking around is fine, I just think some of your posts make it hard to tell if it is even a joke. I’m not trying to be a mean guy, just trying to save you the heartbreak of upsetting people, and in turn getting upset yourself. This is mostly an adult community of enthusiasts, and traffic is pretty slow here so people do read almost every new post here.

You have a website dedicated to gunpeyyokoi, have a twitter page dedicated to him, but you’ve yet to relax and enjoy his coolest invention of all time.

Once again,
play your VB. Discuss VB.

Has anyone found a way to comfortably play laying down?

Naked, while being being fanned with a palm frond and being fed grapes.

However, the eye shade still digs into your face.

Have you tried inserting and pulling it out of the VB a few (or a lot of) times, that might wear through possible oxidation.

My replacement box arrived today, Thanks KR155E! 🙂

Last time I bought a item where the label was in poor condition it wasn’t that bad. You could mail him if you like a decent label.

It’s a fair price for a crappy label.
A picture speaks a thousand words, a retro game shop owner should know that by now.
