I won it! I can’t believe the debugger is mine 😀 😀 😀

So Happy! My preciooouuus!!! :vb:

Congrats man! Really stoked someone here at PVB got it. Definitely take like 100 pictures of that link cable! Ok, maybe a couple less =P
Also curious to see if anythings on it.

Seriously, enjoy it 🙂

I don’t think it’s too serious, more of a curiosity I would guess. While it is interesting to me, I’m not sure if I’m prepared to scour ebay though =P Not to say someone with more spare time them me couldn’t, it would be helpful to the VB database we have here.

Wow, it’s looking awesome! Good job!

Both of my US systems have EXT. on them.

I believe EXT. was just the US “name” for the port for the link cable. I think the Playlink was for Japan systems.

Later Japanese systems got the EXT name as well, though. Looks like it was changed from Playlink to EXT at some point, we’re kind of trying to pin point where in the serial number list that happened.

Oh, and I wish that dev kit came with some code for an unreleased game (even wrestling or some stupid horse racing game 😛 )… now that’d be REALLY cool. 🙂

DogP

That would be so cool, I’d love to see any of those unreleased games to be honest =P

wow 🙂 nice collection for sale

Wow, now that’s a very clean set with some awesome goodies included. It’s interesting he’ll only sell to people with less than 1000 feedback points. Hey, I have less than 1000!

Check out the noteworthy auction thread.

Wow, just wow! Looks very nice and you seem to have been standing by with a duster all the time as your pics are so very clean. I love it!

I also love the fact it isn’t that big, but it looks solid. Thanks for sharing, again, very cool!

Thank you! I just received it yesterday, and I always clean my stuff when I receive it. It definitely cleaned up nice, and will get a regular swiffer.

It also works great, I love the minimal design, makes it really comfortable to play. It definitely keeps the system solid, I love it!

I plan to do a video on it as well, which I’ll share here whenever it’s done.

Don’t mean to pull up an old post, but I figured for the sake of data collection I’d add to this.

#V10047635 is a Japanese Kiosk unit, and #V10135382 is a Japanese retail unit.

Here’s my new Japanese display kiosk! A big thanks to Bigmak for this! Here she is all cleaned up and read to rock.

One thing I noticed, it seems on the earlier Virtual Boys the link cable port was called “Playlink” and on the newer ones it is called “Ext” like on all the Game Boys. This is probably common knowledge, but it was something I didn’t know about.

Just received my Japanese kiosk unit.

V10047635

Wow, now that’s a good find!

Great video, man. As always very funny! That’s a cool console as well!

Hmm, sounds like you should have told him Japanese, since the Japanese tap uses a Super Famicom power cord and the US tap uses a SNES power cord.

That’s a lot of money for a single game..It’s one of a few I’ll have to do without.

Yup, $405 sale price. Ouch.

i see where the post should have gone… thanks… i see a lot on ebay… next time i’ll post it there…

No problem, it just makes it easier to consolidate it. I like seeing what other people find, so it’s nice to have another contributor.

I’d just like to point out there’s a proper thread for this:

Otherwise, there’s still almost two days left of that auction, I can imagine it could still go for a pretty penny. I’m gonna bid just so I can see what this ends up selling for, I’m curious what these are going for now.

the first time you boot up a prototype, translation, or homebrew, you’ll be happy you had patience. =)

Ain’t that the truth. I still remember the first time I used mine…

Have you tried using a different mini USB cable? You never know, It’s happened to me before with my smart watch. I thought my device was DOA, but used a different cable and it’s all good now.

Edit: Sorry, missed that part in the thread, sounds like you tried that already. Hmmm..

Nice, that was a great video.

I like how the VB is missing its visor.

I like this one as well. Not only is it totally 90’s, it really is a great advertisement. It definitely makes me want one…if, you know, I didn’t already have one (or two =P)
