Ehh, they took the ad down and reposted it as working and with a key for another 10 days of bidding. Seems fishy to me, and pretty much sealed the deal in me not being able to afford it. When I was reading all the talk on here about how easy it is to open and repair it, I was already thinking that a lot more people would be interested. But I think the seller was reading along with you guys and fixed it.
That is the problem with this good community, others try and abuse the helpfulness it seems 🙁

Is there a way to make certain parts only accessible to long time and frequent posters here? That would potentially solve that problem.

Are your displays soldered? If not, then that is a very important thing you need to get fixed, if you live in the USA or at that part of the world PM runnerpack, if you live in Europe, I can do it for you if you want me to.

Every single display gets glitchy without repairs now or later. When soldered that cannot happen.

My eyeshade just arrived from JapanGameStock.com, the eyeshade is in absolute perfect condition and the box is in pretty good condition, though considering its age I think it is in as good condition as it can be.

Well, it is a let down your displays do not work right away, but on the other hand, this problem ALWAYS pops up, now you just have to wait a bit longer before you can carelessly enjoy the real Virtual Boy experience!

Where are you from? Looking at the time you posted it, I imagine you are from the States, but you never know 😉

Thanks for the update, just ordered one myself, that is a great price and my eyeshade is not all that nice anymore.

The medallion should be facing you when looking into the VB.

Posting where you are from normally helps a lot, since postage is way cheaper if it is from somewhat near where you are located.

Very cool video! Thanks for sharing this, the cool thing is that they really do not make a fuss about the black/redness and just openly tell the VB is black and red. I think this video really does make a cool advertisement: No one else is making 3D systems, ONLY NINTENDO!!!!!

I have acquired some spare displays so I am back in the repairing service. I do give a 100% guarantee now unless the cable is shriveled up or creased of course.

The displays including cable have to be untampered with, they may have been in the oven (though people, please don’t do it, Runnerpack also agrees that the oven trick is bad, especially if you want the displays to be soldered), but the cables may not be shriveled up, that is just as good as unrepairable.

I am located in the Netherlands, if you want me to repair your cables, please PM me.

In those systems it is highly unlikely that you would have burnt out anything due to your finger touching any contacts, those parts were/are just very resistant to stuff like that, though the stopping of the spinning of the mirrors is pretty strange, almost sounds as if you just disconnected a cable from one of the boards by accident, or slightly knocked out of connection. Did you try and push all the cables?
