Well for simplifying, I think a weapon item should fall on occasion that would give Nester a very powerful bowling pin, Wario should get a hat that shoots fireballs, Mario should get a turtle shell to throw, Teleroboxer should get blinking fists for increased punch, and Samus should get a little ship that shoots out lasers. Maybe limit the special items to 5 uses, and give item drops of two weapon icons in game at random times.
Maybe add a specialty weapon that everyone can use also like a tennis racket that can knock a player off the platform, and make it appear twice in game at random times.
I also think it would be cool to have platforms specifically built based on levels from each characters Virtual Boy game.

*a space pinball table

I wish you the best of luck with your quest! In the mean time, I recommend purchasing a Flashboy/+ as you can play all of the homebrews (one at a time of course) that way.
It’s no wonder I wasn’t aware before because this is from the GBA version. Also explains the lessened visuals since GBA can’t output the same level of pixels as VB.
In case some people didn’t believe me, because I’m sure not everyone has played V-Tetris. Look a 15 line Tetris+ accomplishment but you can honestly do quite a few more lines then that.
15 = Decapentris!
I believe they said 16 was the max in Tetris Effect but you could get up to a 20 I believe in V-Tetris!

Even 23 years later I’d still say VB is quite revolutionary and did almost all the stuff people are raving about now. If it had been in color I’m certain it still wouldnt have been a success though as bad press about it causing various body harm was highly detrimental.
Yes, I agree that the musical aspect is definitely the biggest difference but I was just blown away when they made the other two declarations.
It’s just sad that achievements in tech done on the VB 23 years ago have basically went 100% unnoticed by the gaming community as a whole.
I watched it, and I did find the video to be pretty pleasant. You did fail to mention that because of community efforts two player games now exist as well as the link cable. Also the homebrew community is pretty strong for Virtual Boy, so even though Nintendo could care less, fans have kept the system alive.
They are nice but at $250, it’s just not worth it to me. Still I’d like to see footage of it working with the viewer and external footage at the same time in a video.
