I’m advertising your services on Reddit whenever it comes up, plenty of collectors out there posting their disappointment that their Virtual Boy units don’t work.

Could be that the seller knew the buyer, possibly created the ebay listing just to sell to them specifically?

Adam, that’s kind of you! I’ll keep that in mind.

My first choice is to get mine working again. I’m sure there are some back connections in the controller (the components in these are extremely cheap). But If I can’t get it going again – I’ll definitely hit you up!

I pulled my R-Zone headset out a couple of weeks ago, found that the LED’s in the head unit aren’t lighting up anymore making it unplayable.

Still need to find the time to disassemble the whole thing and see if I can find the issue.

Thanks for all the work you do mellott124!

Hey, didn’t even realize that the service I used on eBay was NES Freak here!

Thanks for attempting to fix my awful ribbon cable (and my other one) and for the replacement when mine wasn’t salvageable! My VB looks great now, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to play it! I’ve been on a Virtual Boy marathon for the past several days!

Thanks for the info, and thanks for all the work you do for the site and the community KR155E!

Yes WWW

Though I think it would be legitimate either way, since you see either “www.nintendo.com” or “support.nintendo.com” on game covers and manuals now. (when looking to the “Need help…” section)

There’s something about it without the WWW that just doesn’t look right to me.

I knew I couldn’t have been the only member to mention this, I guess I should’ve looked outside the “Offtopic” section of the forum.

Aside from the previews and sneak peeks, anytime I see that movie poster with the robot behind Hugh Jackman, the opening of Teleroboxer with the robot rising in the background keeps flashing in my head.

I would go see this movie, but I know I’m gonna be disappointed when the final fight in the movie isn’t against a vicious cat robot…

I can’t really offer much since I’m one of the creators, but if you haven’t already – you could spend some time on “the wayback machine”.

I know it’s not the same as getting a written account of how it all began from one of the site’s creators, but it’s still fun to kind of see how the site has “evolved” over the years.

Haha! Good one… I especially like the line:

“From an anonymous source at a first party development studio”

😀

2:SNES
3:Gameboy Advance
4:Virtual Boy
5:NES

Thanks! I like using my gameboy camera(s) as much as I can.

I’m still in the highscore top 10 (I thought), but that badge is gone for me. I’m not a really a badge collector, so I’m not complaining, but if this is a lingering bug I thought I should say something.

Scoring aside, I would just die for Virtual Boy Wario Land to come out on 3DS!

Agreed.

@KR155E-It is pretty theoretical, that’s why I bring it up. I’d been thinking about it for awhile now and wanted to see what the site’s administrator thought, or if it had already been thought about. 😀

Here are some pics that are more on topic. There are definitely better ways to capture a Virtual Boy screenshot, but the 3DS can do it.

These are in the cross-eyed view.

I’m the (proud?) owner of one.

Here’s me wearing it.

Lovin my 3DS so far too, however I’m not too impressed with any of the launch titles so I think I’ll be waiting to purchase games until something more enticing comes along.

I’m having a blast with the “AR Games” for now. Here’s a couple of good pics I got on the system at work today.

You’ll need to cross your eyes to see these.

I would agree with KR155E on that point. As a gamer, if I saw a serial that ended in DEU or JPN – I would assume that game is either in german or japanese. That said though, I don’t (as a gamer) tend to look too hard at serials when looking at games.
