I do think it’s better to just get the SNES and Genesis set up with RGB cables. A SNES Mini can be modded easily out of the box, while the Japanese Megadrive at least already outputs RGB so you just need a good cable.
Once you have that, it’ll look even better than these cables and you can do it all now.
I consider it a beefed up Gameboy in terms of the games – I tend to play in quick bursts not because of the display, but because actually playing it can be quite uncomfortable in terms of hunching / posture etc. and takes some care to set up.
I quite like these – though I must admit I do prefer the Famicom version. I have one of those Famicom TV controllers new in the original box at home, plus a couple of Sharp-branded NES controllers for my Famicom Station, they look great.
Yeah the global shipping program is already becoming a huge pain in the ass – it’s not workable for me but some people insist on it – I have to stand my ground and not use it, it’s got all sorts of problems from missing packages to stupidly long wait – plus those import charges don’t necessarily go to government either – they go to the company handling the service. I’m not at all comfortable with that.
I don’t see how anyone could think this was legitimate. They just happen to be the two pages? No other games? Printed materials back then didn’t even use that sample watermarking, plus what kind of a name is VX? Is that supposed to be a play on DX? I’m really surprised people could think there’s something in this – it’s what you call an orgy of evidence.
I don’t mean to sound overly dismissive, but it smacks of bait.
I keep meaning to get the VB emulator up and running on Wii but haven’t gotten round to it. The VB is such a 2D powerhouse spec-wise, I don’t think I’d mind playing it in 2D so long as the games are playable.
I would absolutely agree – I snagged a cart only copy shipped for under ten quid the other day- you gotta be quick! I’ve also had alerts on for months…
At this early stage it’s so polished, it’s really good to see.
I’ve been playing SF2 for over 20 years – would you like some feedback on any differences that stand out? I noticed some collision elements and things like that. Not sure how you have the hitboxes set up, but I can get you all hit boxes and frame data if it’s useful.
If nothing else I like just talking about this stuff 🙂
