Great video! Very thorough.
Thank you 🙂 I hope I did everything justice.
I’m late to the party on this one but this thread has me excited! I would love to make an entire separate physical library of the home-brews.
Happy to support someone else in the community. Put me down as well. I need to start saving up now.
I just received mellott124’s Link Cable yesterday and I am in love with it! I was able to test it out and it works flawlessly, the quality of the components are top notch and if you didn’t know any better, you’d think it was an official product. There was fantastic communication along the way and it was definitely packed with care.
Here’s pictures of mine.

Latest parts just came in. I’ll be building tonight and through the weekend to try to get everyone their cables.I am out of town Monday and Tuesday so some may slip into the next week but I’ll do my best to not let that happen.
I can hardly wait!! 😀
That is really cool! I love how talented the guys here are!
To go along with being fed up about the hate it gets by random people, how about, “If you haven’t played one, shut up and try it” lol
That was more of a joke than a real submission though.
That sounds fair enough 🙂

The first batch is about 10 or 12 cables. Those are all gone but there will be more once those ship. All the parts are on their way and should be here probably this weekend.
I’m planning on making 25 cables at the moment. All parts except the actual connector have been ordered for the 25 (meaning cabling and pins). I have connector parts currently coming for 12 complete cables. I’ve had some printed FDM using Onyx and some printed SLS using a PA12 material. I’m testing different print methods and materials and so don’t want to order too many to begin with. Additional ones are coming in ABS but I’m guessing the quality will be too low. If the ABS versions are acceptable then I may have more initially.
Have you decided how much you’re gonna be selling these for?
Thanks Lester 🙂 It definitely had people looking at the VB in a positive light and curious to try it out. I also took it to a local retro video game store called Digital Press. Every month they host an event called NAVA and each time there’s a theme and the last one was the “Boys of Summer” and it was all Game Boy and Virtual Boy themed so I brought the Virtual Girl and people were playing with it. The owner of the store also owns the National Video Game Museum and he was in love with the Virtual Girl.

It was a ton of fun. I intend on bringing it again this year too. It was pretty funny to see everyone double take and asked when Nintendo made a Virtual Girl lol
I am so flipping excited for this! Now to get more games that utilize the cable 😀
It was really cool to see it on the shelf. Maybe he will touch on it on a Mike and James Monday. 🙂
I’m a fan of his videos and always have been. I find his humor like mine and the AVGN’s anger for the games, reminiscent of my own as a child (I have a broken NES controller to prove it). In the beginning I felt like he a was a bit clueless about some things but having watched videos with him and Mike, a lot in the beginning was staged for comedic effect and exaggeration. His opinions on the games and items he reviews aren’t always the same as the AVGN’s on camera opinions.
As far as how he treats his games, he does a mix of props and real things. I don’t treat my collection like a god so it gets rough handled at times. I can’t say I’m any better. I collect to play and enjoy. Damage is all part of the game of using your collection a lot over time.
Love the work you put into this! In my dreams I imagine having a game room with something similar in it.
Count me in! I’ve been making labels all week for my Everdrives. Challenge accepted! This should be fun. Good luck to everyone 🙂
Sweet! Thanks for the hard work and sharing guys!
So great to have a rom so I can try this out. Thanks for sharing this and thanks to everyone that contributed! You’re all rockstars!

Great work, I can’t read enough about it
Thanks, man. I love talking and writing about the system. It’s such an underdog and deserves so much more recognition.
I keep both of mine out in the open to display them in my game shrine. I keep them next to the NES TV, GameGear and PSPs.
