I heard Space Squash is really just tennis (Squash as in the sport), I trust it’s better than it sounds?
Well, I certainly think it is a lot more than simply squash or tennis. As for mixing sports, one could say that to some extent, it is partially a cross between squash and air hockey, but on top of that, it adds a variety of special ups that can be collected while playing and all sorts of obstacles located in the courts. Plus, the boss battles are more like actual battles than trying to play a sport for points, since you actually have to destroy the bosses by hitting their weak points.
I don’t know, I guess the person who told you “it’s just tennis” must not like tennis at all, and I really love tennis, especially all of the Mario Tennis games. I guess if one has no desire for tennis or squash or air hockey, one might not like this game, though it does add a good bit of stuff on top of that.
I also have to throw in my recommendation for Jack Bros. Not only that, but Space Squash must be highly recommended as well. Space Squash utilizes the stereoscopic effect of the Virtual Boy to a great degree and is a lot of fun. Both of these games receive very high ratings from the majority of Virtual Boy players who have tried them, but both games are pretty costly, so it would indeed make sense to purchase a FlashBoy Plus and be able to play both games on it.
And a very happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
My extended family had our big Thanksgiving get together this past weekend, so today just a few of us are going out to eat for lunch, which will still be nice.
I’m really surprised that the Game.com found a better place on the list than the Virtual Boy. As far as commercial success goes, the Virtual Boy actually wins out with more sales of systems and even TWO more commercially released games (oh yeah!!!). And from what I’ve seen on Ebay, sellers have a hard time selling any of the Game.com games these days even for really low prices. I guess I can’t judge it from personal experience, though. Nevertheless, it certainly seems that the Virtual Boy has a much better following than the Game.com.

Very nice! I bet playing NES games with a Virtual Boy controller is totally awesome! (and certainly more comfortable than using one of those original, rectangular NES controllers)

I’ve beaten all 4 stages. 🙂

Oh man. That would kinda be cool, but the hidden message would also be a major bummer: “Hey, remember Nintendo’s major commercial failure, ROB? How about we dress him up in one of Nintendo’s other major commercial failures?”
Finding out about this has me very worried, especially since no details are known, and thus, I can only fear the worst. I will certainly continue to keep him in my prayers.

It’s market forces and all that, but personally I think 250$ for a repro made by fans is way too much.
I honestly consider it a great compliment, that some people place so much value on something that I helped to make.
Attached to this post are the inner pages of the SD Gundam Dimension War Instruction Booklet in English, which I sent to Uncle Tusk for use in the limited production run of SD Gundam Dimension War. I wanted to wait to post these pages until after Uncle Tusk was sold out, so as not to hinder the sales which required a financial investment on his part and others. Thus, if you didn’t happen to get an instruction booklet from this production run and would like to know what the inside of the instruction booklet looks like, the attached PDF will let you know just that. You can even use these pages to make your own printed version of the instruction booklet if you like. I wasn’t responsible for the front and back cover pages of this run, however, so I don’t have those to be able to post.

Based on the limited quantities of this particular production run of complete-in-box copies of SD Gundam Dimension War in English and also based on buyers’ demands for complete-in-box copies of this game from this particular run, I would say that a current asking price of $250.00 is very fair. There were two auctions on Ebay not too long ago that revealed a total of four different buyers who were willing to pay more than $250.00 for this CIB game. If one checks the seller’s feedback, one will notice that the seller received positive feedback for each transaction, showing that the sales actually occurred, despite the fact that when the seller kept listing each new auction with the same picture, the seller acted like it was as a result of a non-paying bidder. The number of people willing to pay over $250.00 for this game that is no longer readily available may have very well increased some in this short period of time. If a person who was willing to pay over $250.00 for this game today found out that someone else was able to acquire it today for much less instead of him or her, he or she may very well be upset about it. Thus, it makes sense for a person who is willing to part with this special CIB game to let it go to someone who is willing to pay more than just about anyone else at the moment, which is about the only fair way to handle it.

So, I’ve never been able to collect a full library for a system. I am just 1 Virtual Bowling away from a complete US & JP VB set. I guess I can be happy that I’ve got a full US set, but my cup seems half empty–that set isn’t all that big… :]$1225 for one game? http://www.ebay.com/itm/121164207477
I thought another one just sold on eBay for $1800 earlier this week, but it’s not showing up in eBay searches right now…?
It’s difficult to justify paying that much for one little game…2-3 times more than the cost of the entire rest of the library. I’ve bought cheaper pinball machines!…
Actually, you’d have to pay a good bit more for the full Japanese VB set, since you’d also have to acquire Virtual Lab to make it truly complete, or did you get it recently and not add it to your list? It’s rarer than Virtual Bowling, yet it usually sells for somewhat less since it isn’t as highly coveted. It can go for about $700 to $800.

found a VB today within driving distance in the box for $150.
good deal?not sure yet if it has the manual and stuff, but it does have the console, stand, controller, and battery pack along with a CIB copy of galactic pinball.
i think i’m gonna pick it up regardless, cuz my VB is on the fritz and i want a boxed one anyway.. just fishing for opinions
thanks

Well, complete in box copies of Galactic Pinball sell for $25.00 on average, so that leaves you with a $125.00 boxed system. If the system truly does comes complete with the manual and everything is in good condition, I would say that it is definitely a fair deal and about what such goes for on a regular basis. It is also true that a lot of people are even willing to pay a good bit more for such, so you definitely shouldn’t regret the purchase for the price.
This is truly a most momentous occasion indeed! It took about a decade for the unfinished prototype of Faceball to finally leave the hands of only a select few, secretive collectors, and now, just a very short time after the prototype was made available to all, anybody can make their own version of the game – potentially being able to make what they believe Bullet Proof Software wanted to, but didn’t get the chance to, make – all thanks to the most excellent work of thunderstruck! Thank you so much, thunderstruck, for all of the many hours that you put into this! 🙂
Heh… gotta love the “wow” kid.

Thanks for making me feel stupid for spending nearly $30 on cart only. :/
Just trying to help out future prospective buyers. 🙂
But hey, if you think $30.00 is a fair price to pay for cart only, then there is no loss there.
Yahoo Auctions Japan is a great place to find an abundance of copies of Chalvo 55 at great prices. Just search for “チャルボ55” and you find:
There is currently a brand new copy on there as a “Buy-It-Now” for 890 Yen = 9.16 US Dollars = 5.70 British Pounds = 6.75 Euros = 9.72 Australian Dollars.
Amazon Japan also has 4 new copies of the game, each at great prices, but only one of them ships to foreign countries:
You don’t even need to use a proxy service with Amazon Japan.

Bidders Beware: There is currently a “sealed” copy of Waterworld on Ebay:
After inspecting the photos, I conclude that this a re-sealed copy of the game, so it does not have the original manufacturer’s shrink wrap. All original sealed games have a horizontal seam in the shrink wrap that runs along the middle of the back of the box, and as best as I can tell, this shrink wrap is missing that seam.
Thus, if you plan to bid on it, consider it a likely complete-in-box copy but not a sealed copy of the game.
Of course, if you’re truly interested in the item, contact the seller and ask him if there is a horizontal seam in the shrink wrap along the middle of the back of the box to be sure.
I would like to thank everyone, so much, for the great response that I received to the selling of my VB items as a result of the unfortunate circumstances that I am facing. The money that I have already received from sales is certainly going to help me out a great deal for the next several months.
At this point, I must say that I need to “close up shop” for now. If you have already sent me money for items, I will be shipping them out to you soon and will send you tracking information. If you already have a pending offer with me, please feel free to follow it up if you like. Otherwise, I won’t be accepting new offers for any more of my Virtual Boy items at this time. It does take me a good bit of time to handle such things, and right now, I need to focus all of my time and energy on searching for a new job.
Thanks again for all of the help and support. It feels so great to be part of such an awesome community! 🙂

Ben are you planning on keeping at least one virtual boy and maybe a flashboy? It would be a shame to go without.
Yes, I do plan to keep one Virtual Boy and my Flash Boy Plus. Everything else is open game, though it may take me a while to figure out how I’m going to pack and ship the larger items.
Jack Bros. (U), Insmouse no Yakata, Space Squash, Faceball: Prototype Edition, the VB prototype controller, and a sealed AC Adapter Set (I still have a non-sealed one) left my possession for their new homes recently. I’ve updated my profile accordingly.
