Nice. That reminds me of how quickly I altered my interest in the Virtual Boy. There was actually a time just a little over a year ago when I said to myself, “there is no way that I am going to pay over $100.00 for just one video game.”

To those who know the cost of Virtual Boy stuff, my current collection shows how drastically the Virtual Boy has changed my mindset on that. 😉

Hey Nightowljrm!

Glad you’re enjoying the coolest video game system on the planet. I hope you decide to join the high score competition, especially for Red Alarm. Getting the high score on this site is pretty tough.

Very nice. Merry Christmas to you, too, thunderstruck.

could you make the manual file available so we can print it ourselves? the box art you’re using was primarily someone else’s work, not to mention the game data itself was given for free, so it would be in the spirit of the community to make the manual available too.

merry xmas.

Great… you’re back… yipee…

You said you didn’t even notice a difference between the new box and the old one, so what do you care.

Your choice of color, as well as the overall appearance of your picture, is much better than that of the other ones.

It looks like coloring VB game screenshots is a lot of fun. I may have to start doing this for fun.

Begin the rants….

Okay…

Geez! I can’t believe how much the seller is asking for a FlashBoy Plus, especially whenever anyone can order a brand new one straight from Richard for less than half that price! What is the seller trying to do, take advantage of people who are unaware of Planet Virtual Boy? But then again, what can be said of any bidders who actually make an offer for this without trying to perform a simple internet search to see if they can find a brand new one at a better price? There is no doubt that Planet Virtual Boy will be in the top search results, and it is here where they can see that they can get a brand new one from Richard at a much lower price. Perhaps the seller can be applauded if he manages to get lots of money off of those who refuse to take a little time to try to inform themselves by such means. And why don’t more people who shop for Virtual Boy things on Ebay ever take the time to check out Planet Virtual Boy? I mean really… you have the most amazing Virtual Boy site in the world that lets you know all that you need to know about such things if you just take a little time to check out the various links at the top of the pages. Perhaps those who do let themselves become informed of such things via this site can be regarded as being rewarded for their efforts by getting the FlashBoy Plus at Richard’s asking price…

Okay… That’s about all the ranting I can come up with at the moment. 😉

Yeah come on take some pictures, i would love to see the new additions to your already fantastic collection.

I’ve been having a hard time deciding how I’m going to display the collection on my profile page, since there are only 6 images allowed, but I guess for now, I can take pics and add them to the collections thread, since there are no limits on that. I don’t have everything nicely displayed in a room, so I can’t make a picture of a home display, but I’ll keep it in mind to try to make photos of the items lying out on the floor or something soon.

-24 Hours Remain-

(Better get all of your planned gaming in soon, because in 24 hours, we could all be toast.)

Oooooo… pretty.

Yes! Those look very nice indeed.

I am assuming that UncleTusk will update his site, showing that there are no more copies available once the last one sells, so if you submitted a payment through his site, you should be okay and can expect to receive your complete copy.

I’m assuming that 50 complete copies of the game were made. A lot of the original orders were only for boxes and/or manuals, since many of the early people who ordered already had cartridges of the game, so there will be more than 50 total orders before all of the complete copies get sold out.

LOL. Your comment reminds me of something that my 9th grade economics teacher once said. He said that if there was ever a worldwide nuclear war, he would sit out on his front porch and watch it, because there’s no use in trying to hide from it if we’ll all eventually be toast anyway, so might as well get it over with and enjoy the sight as it’s happening.

I won’t have access to the internet for the next few hours, so this will have to do. 😉

Yeah… because of Nintendo of America’s mentality to completely disown the Virtual Boy, I don’t think the VB community ever has to worry about them coming after us due to releasing unreleased VB games.

If the Virtual Boy is to receive a true revival, it looks like it would have to come from Nintendo of Japan.

Such speculations don’t make it as much fun. 🙂

Hey MOLINASON,

The person who is always in need of donor carts is Richard. You can find his e-mail information here:

http://www.planetvb.com/modules/usercenter/index.php?section=profile&uid=545

Thus, if you want to mail him free VB carts to use, send him an e-mail asking for his mailing address, saying that you would like to send him free donor carts to be used for the project, and even if he doesn’t need them for this project, he can certainly use them for some future project, because at least several more are planned.

The thing is, though, Richard is very modest and may say something like “that’s okay, I don’t need any more donor carts,” when in reality, he truly does. So if you can’t get his mailing address that way, just ask me and I’ll send it to you via PM. Then you can mail him the free carts, and he will have no choice but to accept them! 🙂

If it is still possible, I am interested in getting a complete copy.
Please just let me know how best to get you my info and pay you for the product.
I think it is great that you are taking the time to do this.

Sincerely,
Chris Canfield

Hey Chris,

I would recommend going to UncleTusk’s website, registering, and then ordering your complete copy here:

Supplies are very limited, so act fast!

I don’t know if you still need them, but I figured I’d post them here in case you do. Let me know if you need any other angles.

People is just me on this one… And I didn’t even call him greedy, I just said that it felt a little greedy to me. But if he really spent 5 figures on this (which I didn’t know until after) I can’t blame him at all. The one I would call greedy however is the original owner of the ROM/cartridge/code or whatever.

Whenever the rom does get released, I’ll make a review of it.

I would agree that the first person, who owned the ROM, source code or a cart of an unreleased and otherwise unavailable game and who refused to let that game be released from his or her possession unless an extremely large profit could be made from the deal, could rightly be called greedy. It goes without saying, however, that Eric isn’t trying to make any profit off of this and is actually willing to take a loss for the VB community.

The unfortunate thing that the VB community may have to face is that if Dragon Hopper or Zero Racers or some other hitherto unreleased game is out there in private hands, it could very well be in the hands of a greedy person, who won’t give it up unless a ridiculous profit is made in the exchange. So the VB community would have to decide: is it worth it to come together and help pay the very large amount necessary so that the game can be played, enjoyed, and appreciated at all, or is it better to just never be able to play the game?

Those who help pay to get an unreleased Virtual Boy game released – even paying before they know how good the game is from playing it but who want it released anyway because they have an understanding that it is a genuine piece of Virtual Boy history that deserves more than the fate of being lost and unappreciated forever – are awesome in my book.
