I think if you have an official adaptor they are AC anyway, like the power supplies for NES etc.
The VB takes DC from the battery box but i think, and I’m sure someone with more knowledge can confirm this, that the AC adaptor converts AC to DC then goes into the VB.
I run mine with my powerboy, a made up adaptor plate that enables DC input from a standard mulit-volt transformer.
So i think you are fine with the Japanese AC adaptor and your AC poer supply, I guess if it runs and you can play then sit back relax and enjoy.
I did accidentally plug mine in with the polarity switched wrong and also at 12v, it didn’t start but seems to have caused no damage as when i realised, 15 seconds later, i turned all off, swapped to correct voltage and polarity and there was that red screen of joy spraying on my eyes once more.
Hope this rambling helps,
😀

Top tunes, loving the electro noises.
I have been having fun with KORG-DS10 for the DS, great little app, I just mess about with it usually ending up with a carcophony of sounds and squidges, but such fun.
I can confirm like Krisse says, sound using the flashboy is perfect, no differance to original game carts.

top notch job, although i will stick with my old one as i ate the instructions and now feel a connection to the box.

😀

I paid £20 in uk ebay for boxed with manual. The cart was shrink wrapped with the internal box and manual and was new, guess the box had been out on display for a while as it is a little worn.
Plays and saves fine, top game, buy it.

Oh no a new obsession to occupy my tiny mind.
Would a cat actually stay on a rollercoaster, I know mine probably would if the seat was comfy enough.

Can’t read Japanese but i so want to know if thats a cat riding a rollercoaster in the screen shot.

Like the review so far, are you gonna cover all the released games and homebrew or just some of your favorites?

Nice gag about mario demo too, got me hoping……

I would like to point out that if the wish of a donator is to not have it released to the wild but to let a few gamers play then I would honor that promise and I hope others would too, no written contracts needed, but with things that have happened in the past i fully understand any reluctance to dish out ROM copies.

Yeah akumi you have opened yourself to that kind of pleading, I do have a question, is it a full game demo or few levels. Any chance of a movie?

I think a demo or maybe a ROM is out there somewhere but with the stink that the last ROM’s made when released I doubt whoever has it will admit so and risk a barrage of pleas to dump and release it, now thats not to say I wouldn’t be one of those wanting it released, I would as much as I would love to play Bound High, Zero Racers etc, but I think its kept in a very close circle, as 10YLL mentioned in his post about the dumps, maybe so secret and closed that people in that circle don’t even know they are in it.

But if someone reading this does have rare and unreleased ROMS and feels a copy needs to be released into the wild, send ’em on to me and I’ll do it and take the flack off the hard done by collectors, being a gamer I want to play. 😀

Hey DanB, its just an avi I outputted from Solidworks, don’t think it needs special codecs, has anyone else had this problem?
It says it uses Microsoft Video 1 compression. I have WMP 9 which plays it, not tried on my home laptop, which don’t have solidworks on, i will have a go later.

Like that one, BTW what cake did you settle for in the bakery?

Nah only kidding, but if you got details on your head mount strap design I would like a view, as would a few others i’m sure.
😀

Thanks, glad its liked and hope its usefull.
Good call on the youtube posting, tho’ I have never posted to youtube, if anyone wants to do it thats fine by me.

Hey runnerpack i will send you a model over, i have had the same thought on that part, I was thinking an aluminium replacement might work but would probably need some spring ball screws for the leg position retention. I did notice mine is cracked, just as the legs are almost in out posn, moving over the pressed bumps on the bracket, so if you can let me know how you get on with a remake that would be cool.

out of them 2 i would go for Grime Reapers, only cos i not got panic bomber so don’t know the music.
My favorite, well the one that sticks in my head most, is the opening to Galactic Pinball, just got some top 303 type aciiiid noises in it.

I will have to dig out my Jack Bros and Verticle force to remind myself of the music mentioned.

LOL, got me too

Hey Dasi, thats the fellas, having had several hours play on wario it appears i have several of these, one being medium size, mid screen (not tested left to right screen differances) and then 3 or 4 very small ones in no distinct pattern but they do seem to be in front of the screen. Could very small dust particles on the mirrors do this?

No worries on the darkened room test Garrison, i kind of forgot once i got into playing.

It don’t detract froom game play so think I’m getting my head back in there while i have some time. 😀

The line is black, well its kind of a horizontal visable distorsion, very thin, almost un-noticable, you can just see a thin black line across any red on screen. I have not had my VB apart, not sure if whoever had it before me did, but judging by the mint condition i recieved it in I would say its not ever been opened.
I have a day off tomorrow, and plan on some ‘much missed and looked forward’ VB playing, I’ll see if i can figure anything more out about it. I am relucktant to dismantle my VB as it works great and the line don’t bother me, but i now would like to find out what causes it, anyone got a spare head unit i can have so i can operate on mine and see whats going on? 😉

edit:

not sure about the darkened room making it go, i will try tomorrow.

I think i know what you mean, i have a very very faint line across the middle, mine does as you say, move you head up or down and the line moves too. Mine is so very faint though, once i start playing its not noticable, I only spotted it after having my VB for several months. I had the thought that it was a mold witness on the red eye pieces. If it is that maybe polishing these would help, anyone else have an opinion on polishing the red eye parts? I have not tried recifying mine, it really don’t affect play for me.
Hope this helps, 😉

I remember the power glove, a friend had one and he got it working with renderware on the pc a long time ago, 1996 I think I last saw that thing. Awesome book, shame I can’t read Japanese, that would be a good read.

That is gutting to have paid way over the odds for it, you could alway release the ROM and make soooo many people happy, maybe a few uber collectors would be unhappy but for everyone to finally have a play on Bound High, awesome, afterall for me, and I am guessing quite a few others, its about playing, fun and escapism. 😀
