I’m sure it can be printed, it might have been by someone as I released the 3D model a while ago.
But if you print the exact model the same as the original I’d say it would crack the same as the original.
My fix kits are not the most pleasing to look at but they are quite solid and I don’t think will crack, I have not had anyone crack one yet.
I don’t currently have any kits left, more are in the pipeline, as some folks know they have been for a while, sorry fpr the delays, I have been chasing the fella so might have some news soon (I hope).
If anyone has printed one of these a review would be good.
If anyone wants to, a copy of the model is attached.
Hope all is cool this yule for y’all, having stuffed a top diner chilling on the sofa with wife, cat and a few.
Happy gaming to all for the rest of the holidays.
I think its a good little game, and for most the first 3D game they play on the VB.
I liked it, and I don’t like tennis or tennis games usually but it was fun for a bit, until my copy of Red Alarm turned up…….
I was under the impression the FlashBoy+ is no longer being made… I am interested in one – not really into collecting the games, but I definitely want to play them on my VB!
Richard still makes and sells them, as he advertises here:
I second that, get a flashboy, a must if you want to just play, and you can play em all.
You do need to play VB games on VB hardware to get the most from them so flashboy is invaluable in that respect.
I would take cash but its not really safe to send.
The cost is actually in British pounds (£) so its more like $17.70 to the US
I could always use some eShop credit for my US 3DS, not sure on card denominations but if you are up for getting the code, email it to me, once it goes into my 3DS I’ll ship the medallion.
Send me a pm if you are interested
This is the exact thing I have been pondering modelling but never got round to it.
I’d like to say hold for a day or 2 and I’ll sort an STL but I have a stack of projects that need attention, so if anyone does this and it works I too would like to see pics.
If I do get something like this modelled I’ll post it for all to use.

Has anyone tried a kind of “clamp” fix ?
I started to create a clamp 3D model in Sketchup, which I was going to 3D print… but I didn’t have any displays that responded well to increased pressure (I’ve soldered most of my displays). It was just a piece of plastic with holes that the LED screws would go through, with a slight bulge near the top for increased pressure on the cable, and a curl at the top to act as a strain relief (to keep the cable from pulling away from the display).
I don’t know of anyone that has actually tried something like this though… lots of people (including myself) have tried various tapes/adhesives to hold it tighter, but results have been mediocre at best.
My opinion is that it may work as a temporary fix on some displays, but probably would eventually fail (since displays in advanced stages of failure don’t seem to work by simply applying pressure). Though maybe if you apply the clamp early enough, the adhesive wouldn’t weaken, because the clamp would be reinforcing it… I dunno. If you try it, be sure to post how it goes!
that looks black to me, I have a black one, but it just went pop and died in my hands, going through the sending to Nintendo to get repaired, maybe time to upgrade to XL once its done.
Oh BTW welcome back GYF.
Howdy, welcome to a top site and community.
I’d def recommend a Flashboy, almost essential.
Enjoy your system when it arrives, Red Alarm is a top game, my fav of all the retail VB games.
Just seen this, looks good and it fits, I hope the strength is there to allow it to work right.
I’m happy to have helped and my model gets another VB standing tall.
Some good investigation work there Ben, seems logical with those time lines.
I wonder what the significant changes could be, maybe fish more known to the west?
