thanks for the clarification.

have you considered posting at http://www.romhacking.net and asking for help with the project? it seems you need an ASM coder to expand the usable space and change the pointers. they might also be able to help you swap out any graphics that need to be translated, etc.

Is the IPS patch above for the v2 release? I prefer to patch my own files and am looking for that IPS patch.

Unfortunately, character space limitations from the original Japanese ROM were not changed in any way, so this often resulted in some information, usually the least important, having to be omitted since the English language takes up more space.

What information, exactly, was omitted? Are you saying you omitted information because your translation is more accurate or are you saying you actually left out text and/or graphics to make room for your translation?

Thanks!

i like this screen a lot. i wonder if the graphic is in the same few bytes of each rom or if it is always in a different place. it might be relatively straight forward to make a patch that swaps the graphics.

Hello,
I already have Bound High! and am only interested in the box, manual, inlay, and inserts, is that possible? What would you ask for that?

How do you plan on shipping? What packaging materials are you going to use?

i have two black lines in my right eye (left optics) that moves as i move, gets smaller as i pull away, larger as i move closer, etc. it is not a scratch on the red lens as far as i can tell. there was another thread similar to this one where RP mentioned that it could be a tiny bit of dust or something on the mirror. i’ve never opened it up to confirm, as it really doesn’t bother me all that much.

don’t let 1 person ruffle your feathers. you should be working on this project because you enjoy the challenge. if it stops being fun, then stop working on it until the interest returns.

there is a place along side the flashboy and flashboy+. a msd enabled kit with the ability to back-up saves sounds like a move in the right direction. pretty much every flash kit on the market is someones interpretation of how they would have done it (not counting all the clone kits produced during the nds era). that drive and determination allowed for many different features to be developed. these kits end up being works of art, which interest not only gamers and homebrew enthusiasts but also collectors. i would love to own a VBoot for all of these reasons.

the length of time it takes is not important. when it is ready we will support you.

i’d like to comment to all future flashboy+ buyers. i picked up one of these boxes off kr155e. they are extremely well made. it came complete with everything required to complete the experience. i highly recommend at least one box to complete your virtual boy collection.

thank you for the additional information. i am one of the few who received both bound high and space pinball. the next reproductions i really want are the english translation for gundam, mario clash with the two patches applied (controller fix and selectable level), and of course wario land with a battery cage. if retail game reproductions are done then i’ll jump at the opportunity. if there is a chance to buy a 1-off of those games, please let me know. i would not ask for you guys to make a full run of 50 carts just because i like patches and/or i don’t know how to solder well. =P

are you guys planning to make reproduction boxes at all or just carts?

how are you going to handle carts hitting eBay? what concerns do you have about that?

you guys might want to consider taking pre-orders for a few months then making just enough carts to fill the orders. making batches of 50 means killing lots of mario tennis carts as donors. i would think that you would want to only use up as few real carts as possible. which would mean filling the demand without any waste. perhaps something to think about?

cheers!

where is the hardware coming from? will these be flashboy boards? will there be labels printed and attached for the customer? will donors be required? finally, how will you address games with battery assisted saves?

i’m mostly curious about the last one as i’ve wanted a wario land reproduction cart with a battery cage. i love the idea of being able to swap a battery as apposed to soldering.

that’s a light up pin for the rubik’s cube.

^^ now this guy is crazy.

thanks for the update. i’ve enjoyed reading about this cart. i wish i knew about hardware like you do, seems like a really fun project with an excellent end result.

green is my favorite color of light. i’m all for this.

cool site. i’ve wanted a microvision but i know the screens degrade over time. maybe some day if i find one in excellent working order.

First, it wasn’t adjustable, resulting in lots of neck cramps; second, it was impossible to play with eyeglasses on.

i adjust mine all the time. i’ve never once had a neck cramp or back issue and i game on it for hours at a time. i also wear corrective lenses. while these seem to cause the red lenses to “curve” the graphics a bit more than usual, they never once made it impossible to play.

On top of that, the games weren’t in color – that would have pushed the price to more than $500, so they were rendered in a fuzzy black, red and blue display which created a 3D effect.

red IS a color. i don’t recall ever seeing blue? hehe.

The image was so difficult to see that headaches due to eyestrain were common

they were? odd, i’ve never heard of anyone who owns the system telling me they had eye strain. the first time i used a 3ds i got extremely tired after 20 minutes. many people who own the 3ds complain about sickness, dizziness, and headaches. yet the only people who relate these same issues to the VB seem to be those who have never actually used one. i find the red/black graphics incredibly soothing and relaxing to my eye. the only issue is if you play in a lit room. pulling your eyes out of the VB can cause your eyes to adjust rather quickly to light. its weird but it doesn’t cause me any discomfort.

interesting read. do you happen to have a contact e-mail for the author or the publisher? i would like to send them a few corrections and discuss their speculative comments.

correct me if i’m wrong, at one point the numbering reflected the FB build number. so a box numbered 35 was the 35th FB to be constructed. now that richard no longer supplies boxes, not every FB+ has a box, so what does the numbering represent? why not just leave the numbering off of the box?

thank you for all of the information, keep it coming!

i’m curious to see exactly how much of this game was finished.

Another World 20th Anv. Android Edition.
The Immortal (NES)
A bunch of CPS1 games.

my favorite thing are game patches. translation, hacks, etc. i wish i had asked for stand alone carts before the whole bound high ebay fiasco. its also really fun to play around with homebrew.

first overclocking and now tv-out, you really do not like the VB for what it is? =P

i enjoy using my vb the way it was designed. if i wanted to play it on a big tv i would use emulation, an hdmi cable, and a vb controller usb conversion kit.

i’m sure some may be interested in this idea. so i will leave it to them to reply with different responses.

Yes they are. All orders are handled through the maker. You can contact him HERE.
