I know you Swede’s have to defend the likes of Basshunter but still…no.

😀

Basshunter was how shall I explain it – a summer fling – something that everybody actually thought was bad but couldn’t help themselves…

I’m sorry it spread.

When (if) I happen to listen to a song it’s always with a mile – it’s funny because it’s bad. I still have them in my phone (why purge when there’s room) and when I set it to shuffle all – they occasionally pop up in between the Beatles tunes.

Had The Beatles released anything in the mid 90’s I would have suggested that instead.

The Haddaway-tune was quite popular after the yadayada “… Roxbury”-movie.

If you would play VB on emulation only you WOULD get tired of it quickly…

I have my home-built eprom cart so playing all games is not a problem. I’d like to be able to play all new games fast and easy.

I immediately thought of “Haddaway – What Is Love”.
I know it came in 1993, but I’m not certain it was a hit everywhere that same year. 😉

Perhaps Ace of Base – but I guess it should be something more electronic…

Shaggy Boombastic maybe?

Or “Infinite Mass” – “Area Turns Red” an appropriate title at least.

NICE!!

You’ve captured a real 3D feel to it.

Even if it’s Spansion it should handle the same, it’s just a different manufacturer of the same chip. Or have AMD changed names to Spansion?

@akumie: Run it in mednafen then…

@VirtualChris
: The grid disappeared and the background scrolls very jerky. Using the same X as cursor that is used when playing is not very good, it’s not visible when placed on top of an already placed X. Same in both mednafen and RealityBoy.
Scrolling background is perhaps not necessary, just add some depth – I thought this was easy when you used the same picture for both left and right eye, just placed at different offsets to make it appear as it’s behind the playfield.

No they’re a pain in the ass to find…

What kind is needed, perhaps we can help you look.

Usually you can always get some amount from a chip broker, but they can be quite expensive.

No enemies, you can just walk around.

3D background like the one you have in the intro but placed deeper in the screen – with perspective – the basic meaning of having a Virtual Boy. 😉

I really liked the samples, reminded me of the “He slimed me” sample in Ghostbusters on the C64.

The last one by akumie is still up the first one is tagged “removed by the user”.

To save the music just right click the mp3-links and choose “Save Link As”. If you are able to play them in Quicktime they should be downloaded somewhere already, probably in the browser cache, you could also check that if you like.

Now that I played it some more in Reality Boy I also noticed that a square is emptied when pressing start-button after a tied game (not always though). It also empties a square otherwise but it’s not always noticeable since some squares are already empty.

And further along the way I got this, I wasn’t able to put an X in the top left corner and the game doesn’t stop:

Seems to work OK, you should develop it, (in Sweden at least) we have something called “Luffarschack” where you have a large grid and you’re supposed to get five in-a-row…

Adding a two player option would be fun, where you could take turns – or if you could also add a link-option – it would be really fun to play two players on two units.

As such a Tic-Tac-Toe game isn’t fun for a very long time, especially if the computer program is written never to loose (I managed to win though). Even then it’s not that fun. 😉

Great job though, everything looked quite nice.

I didn’t understand why there’s an F at the far right, I played it in Mednafen, a bug perhaps – part of the playfield?

Sometimes there’s also one or two 90 degree angles around it:

Yes, that was really cheap!

Nope… anyone else?

Anyone with a FlashBoy that could easily do it?

It works just fine in Realty Boy but in Mednafen the buttons hang and there’s graphical glitches.

When pressing any of the directional pads the last button that (not being a directional pad) was pressed is also indicated but with a missing piece as soon as I release that directional pad direction.

Also when I release a button it is indicated as pressed until I press another button.

Perhaps it’s because I have both a standard USB-keybard and a PS/2 keyboard (wireless IR receiver) connected at the same time but no other software that I’m running seems to have a problem.

I had imagined someone would already have made it, but I couldn’t think of a better way to search for one than to ask for it. 😉

Thanks.

Yup, dropping the files works just fine, but I would have liked to be able to set things up without having to go via the configuration file.

Everybody that actually wants it, knows how much it’s worth and can afford to bid that will usually bid in the last 10 s anyway – so even if it looks low now that’s no indication on how much it will end up at.

There’s also the switch/case structure:

There actually IS a GameBoy player for NES now:

Only $130, we should ask him for a Virtual Boy version…
