It’s probably not a permanant fix by any means. But I figured I’d throw in my two cents since it worked for me (so far) he’s really got nothing to lose by trying it (unless he’s using batteries :P). Although your method seems the best for fixng it.

If you’re really really scared (or really really lazy 😉 ) you could try what I did although this method has’nt really stood the test of time (I did it with a bad one I bought off ebay a while back and it’s been fine for about a week so far…). I Placed the unit on a table with the viewing side down (image on mine was less distorted in this position), plugged it in and left it on for about three hours in this position figuring just maybe it would get warm enough inside so that the glue might “refresh” a little. after that it seemed to work fine. I turned it on a couple times since and it worked without distortion. Could be a coincidence but you really have nothing to lose by trying it.

I can’t beleive noone said 3-D Tetris! Well anyway here’s my faves:

1: Wario Land
2: 3-D Tetris!
3: Red Alarm
4: Vertical Force
5: Mario’s Tennis

@ Fwirt:

That would be cool if Nintendo did like an Atari Flashback thing with, you know Nintendo stuff. Especially with the VB.

Cool video, I wonder if he really owns the cart like he says.

3-D Tetris (much different from V-Tetris) definitely essential, and a good puzzle game no matter how you slice it, harder to find though and usually a little more pricey than Galactic Pinball witch is also an essential game.

yeah for some reason on every unit I’ve ever had, it’s easier to attatch the wrong way than the right way, go figure. It makes sense that the side of the stand with the braces on it should face the same direction as the viewing area on the unit because the player is less obstructed. On the other hand though it is waaay easier to attatch it the other way.

I sincerely hope he puts it in acid and there is an explosive reaction and his face is melted off in the accident leaving him looking like two-face from batman only gayer.

What a fag…

Drats! I just came here thinking I would beat you to the news….I want that sooo bad.

Wow that PCB looks awesome DogP. I was about to finally break down and make my own flash cart, I just bought a some of the stuff I needed to build it but I geuss I’ll wait til you start selling these. It looks like so much less work and well made. Again, Nice. Maybe I’ll use my dead vb and stuff I bought for another project later.

well, it just so happens I purchased a spare VB on ebay a couple of weeks ago witch has the infamous eye problem. So it has to be opened up anyway. I wanted to make a custom head mount shell for it with the guts but have always been interested in a flashcart. I bought some perfboard, 40 pin IC sockets (probably won’t work though, just got excited when I saw a 40 pin socket.), new solder tips, solder and spool wire today at radioshack, . Not to mention I have the busted VB and an unattractive teleroboxer cart. I’m almost ready to go I have to see if I can get my hands on some chips then some sockets and a compatible eeprom programmer, oh and I’ll have to make a gamebit with my dremel so I have to buy some new bits for that. But we can definitely get away with the classic eeprom cart. Although taking one of those usb media card reader/writers and crossing it over with a cart would be cool. a lot more BS though.

Hey Lameboy,
I’ve been really interested in a flashcart for some time now and since you can’t just buy one for vb the only alternative is to make one witch is a pain, but the idea is so hard to let go. However were all very busy with our real lives and do not have much time for projects such as this it’s practically impossible for one person to research, design and build a flashcart effectively. Would you be interested in a collaborative project? I’m really fond of the idea of a flash cart that is written by a pc via the USB port, I think it would be the most effective way to do it. I have some experience soldering, working on PC’s and Laptop hardware, limited programming experience and own precision tooling. I think I could build a flashcart that works with a USB port with some research into it and some help as I’ve never taken on a technical project with such depth. If we were going to do something with the USB Port we would need drivers for it to work with windows witch I can’t write because I’ve never written one. Anyway, before I delve deeper into the idea would you be interested? I’ve got a couple of ideas as starting points to the flash cart hardware that could make it easy to build. Let me know. Later.

He could probably transfer his account to you, provided he’s willing to contact the provider about it.

What’s up kr155e,
I noticed that when I enter the web address http://www.virtualboy.net into my browser I get a 404 ever since the launch of pvb3. Just thought I should tell you in case you did’nt know. Good job on the new site BTW.

LOL “Virtual Phishing” good one.

The monkeys look like cats. kinda funny though.
How about “Galactic Blueballs”, but please don’t make a picture of it.

No.

Yeah I’ve seen that thing before. did’nt look very comfortable considering it looks as if you hold the psp up to your face.
