LOL, $200 for Faceball Remastered? You can still get it for $80 in Tusks shop. He could have been a bit more specific in the item descriptions.

I had to switch from an Samsung S3 to Samsung S4 a month ago. I used to have a Nexus 4 as a company phone which I actually liked better then the Samsung phones.

Even if it was possible, you wouldn’t want to because the Tiny Screen resolution is massively inferior to VB.

hmm, the resolution is actually not that great, totally missed that. Too bad, I already had some ideas floating through my head.

I saw them earlier and though it was pretty cool. I was wondering if they could be used to mod a VB.

So at the end of the day, they keep a few lame customers happy, at the cost of really good sellers who could potentially make them way more money than these deadbeats ever could.

I can understand that ebay became frustrating for sellers, especially when customers don’t feel obliged to pay anymore. I have never sold anything on ebay. However, I have bought quite some stuff and made many many bad experiences with sellers. Some of the would send broken stuff, wrong items, not ship on time or ship without tracking even though I especially paid for it to only name a few. On top sellers would often be very aggressive or not respond at all when I would contact them because of issues (in a very polite way).

After one special case where a seller threatened to file a fraud case against me because I dared to ask when they shipped my item (Teleroboxer, first VB game I bought, 15€) I swore myself to never ever use ebay again.

All of the changes made to make ebay more customer friendly have given my a bit of trust back. I’m not trying to protect buyers that don’t play by the rules. However, right now I rather pay more if I don’t have to bother with ebay.

For me it is alright if it is sold as it is. I don’t need any money for it. I created the multicard as a surprise for all the coders, after Eric said he would pay for making them if I put together the code. Obviously, I also wanted one for myself.

Maybe you guys want to setup a request list before doing the cards so you don’t make too many.

If the contestants want too…they could update their code..add stuff on if they feel like. MK could make a different demo program if he wants.. and we could make a multi-cart available to everyone.

Making all the demos work with the same libgccvb took quite some effort and required me to adapted the code here and there. It depends on the changes but it might not be as simple as just plugging in a new version. I’m also tied up with a different project already.

Also, the rom ended up being 2mb already. So I don’t know if there is allot of space left for more demos.

Sorry for the shaky pictures. I made them quickly with my phone.

FYI

Maybe you just messed up your mednafen config. Try the one I posten here: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=27737#forumpost27737
and see if it makes a differences.

I have played quit a bit with mednafen and never seen that issue.

Looks like only three more people need to post on here that they got their surprises, then someone can post some pics of the goods.

Since I’m Greg’s brother, I got to see the surprise up close, and it is most impressive!

I think M.K. and VirtualChris should have theirs by now. So I guess it would be ok to post some pics !?

Looking great. There have been some recolored VirtualBoys in the past but this one is the best so far. Also nice to hear that the vinyls arrived after all.

They do look very cool. Good job.

I understood it still has the original display and you added a red backlight so that the image looks red/greenish?

Anyone care to fill in the plebeians who were not part of this exclusive soiree?

But then we spoil the surprise for those who didn’t get theirs yet.

Got mine yesterday as well. Thanks to all who made this possible.

Come on man, just get 1 in stock and I’ll buy it, I really wanna play this game. I just bought a Virtual Boy, I come to this forum and find out that this game has been released and then I get told that it’s been discontinued just a little while ago? Feels like a slap in the face.

If you want to play it on hardware you might want consider buying a flashboy. It is just a bit more expensive then a reproduction card and you can play every VirtualBoy game ever made with it.

If you want it for your collection you might be out of luck though.

Unfortunately, it appears the version of libgccvb that the demos provide is not idempotent, despite having include guards: I cannot include it in multiple source files and successfully compile a working program. I get multiple definition errors for all functions and typedef’ed structs :P.

The solution presumably is to take each variable declaration and make them extern, defining them in various C files, or using an approach like TI does for their MSP430 microcontroller registers.

I know there’s a thread for libgccvb committee around here. Has there been any interest in reviving that, taking the best routines from the various versions, and creating a static library which can be linked against?

libgccvb didn’t change much during the last years (besides modified version found in releases here and there). dasi and GuyPerfect started on a new lib from the scratch quite some time ago. It did sound promising but there was never an official release.

As far as I know VBDE does contain the latest official version of libgccvb: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=22265#forumpost22265
It has also a more recent gccVB inside in is very easy to use.

Update: Found a copy locally, so I have officially finished my set! But I will be sticking around this site, to learn more and possibly pick up other virtual boy stuff I currently don’t have.

If you are interested in reproductions of unreleased prototypes you might want to check out this place: http://www.uncletusk.com/catalog/17

Nice to this release finally happening. My next game will be longer. I promise.

The manual is full of insider jokes. So make sure to check it out.

Great manual! Certain remarks in the The Controls gave me a good chuckle.

As for the Piranha characters, my guess is that Derek and Wesley must be the two brothers.

That’s what I thought, but if you look closely at the sprites they seem to share none hereditary characteristics. I guess this mystery will stay unsolved.

I suppose you’re right. They are all cut finally and should be mailed out today *fingers crossed*
This time they’re spelled correctly and the sizes seem right too.

What did they spell wrong?
