Oh yeah, so long as its ‘crazy weird’ not ‘crazy knife wielding scary’ (image of Virtual Jockey in boiler suit jumps to mind), but I only ever take knives to vegetables.
When do you think you’ll be joining us in full colour 3D?

Can you post a close up shot of the sticker so that the text is readable? I can get that translated if necessary as well.Looks interesting!
Could be wrong but I don’t think he’s got it yet, I think the low res pics are from the seller, once this is in VJ’s hands I’m sure he’ll post pics etc.
Just a post to bump this into the list on the front page.
Do we have anymore VB / 3DS owners out there who want to exchange friend codes.
I have not posted mine anywhere else, just seems pointless, but here i feel each PVB member is more like a friend than a random net user so I’m happy to have it up.
Mario Kart 7 is out soon, I see PVB Kart race comps in our future……..

the part you look into is facing up?
Yep thats how mine sits, the bag then zips up over the visor.
I guess a photo would help, but I’m at work can’t do it right now, I will try and remember to snap one tonight.
To anyone who owns a hardcase: Can anyone give me the approx inner dimensions of the official hardcase, length, width and depth (of case and lid), the inner dimensions are what i want to use so my hardcase could in theory use the same foams.
@nibiru8722: my bag is quite a close fit (so not really any wiggle room), the VB sits with lens facing up (not on purpose its just how it fits in the bag), the stand tucked behind (i do find it pushes on the foam visor a bit so have started to keep the stand out of the bag) the controller fits with the power adapter etc in a front pocket. Not perfect but it works, keeps dust out and i don’t have to use my original box.

So, I bought a Virtual Boy at a flea market yesterday.
So far, it’s working perfectly, and I’d like to keep it that way.
Storing it, though, worries me a little.
What’s the best/safest way to store it to ensure minimal damage to anything inside that could break?
I’ve already been told that it can’t “take a bang,” but is there anything else I should be aware of??Thanks to all!!!
Congrats on a great purchase, flea market eh, go one then how much, make us >$150 folks jealous.
Now they are a little fragile but saying that I live in the UK, mine is from Japan, its 16 years old and i doubt been transported delicately, so the occasional accidental knock shouldn’t cause worry.
Really just keep it safe, away from small sticky handed children and the other usual console killers, and maybe make sure you are the only one to assemble and play it.
I keep mine in a soft bag, was actually for the Wii, it fits well and sits on a shelf, its only me who uses it and i have never had the glitchy display problem (although I’m sure in time i will be treated to it one day). I have pondered making a hard case for it, but only cos it would look good, maybe one day i will and I’ll post the design.
Anything else to be aware of, just don’t go twisting the IPD and sliding the focus back and forth for a laugh, set it up, leave it. Although now i think of it some folks here do say keep the IPD all the way to the left (I think left) when storing.
Enjoy your VB for the beauty it can give, one more seen the (red) light.

Oh, I should have clarified I have a Flashboy plus – Minestorm said it’s likely a dodgy contact so I need to buff that battery a little in case it was disconnecting etc.
Hope you can sort it with a bit of buffing, Wario is top game, I had alot of enjoyment playing that one.

Hi,I turned WarioLand on this morning only to find my save game totally gone.
Is this a FlashBoy issue or a WarioLand issue?
I’m no expert but sounds like you need the flashboy plus, with battery save function, the original flashboy is just that a flash cart, turn it off and it clears save data.

What do they look like? Can you post a pic?
Heres a link to a site with some cool pics on:

I’m sure there are some in PVB too but not got the time & bit lazy to search.

Myself or the dog?
I guess we have seen what you going for, unless you have another in mind, but a pic of a dog in a costume usually raises a smile so snap the pooch if he’s up for it. 🙂
Reminds me of when my wife bought our cat a pumpkin costume, i have video of trying to get it on him, not that he fought just made it difficult, then he sat for 30secs with a great pissed off look on his face, then he struggled and tried to take the hat off so we took it all off him.
Its not a very big day here in UK, getting more kids doing the trick or treat thing, but still mostly viewed as a kids day.
I have never dressed up, some would say I don’t need to, but if i did the boiler suit mask thing would be the one, although as a disguise for ‘other purposes’ its kinda hard to hide strangle length dreads from the law. But then as a costume i could just flip em over to the front and be reggae cousin It.
Be sure to post some pics of the costume you do go for.

yea 🙂 everything you have said iv experienced before. i bought a virtual boy for $30 about a year ago and had the same problem, loved the system so much i bought a brand new one and threw the old one out.
VJ, dude, no way can this be your fault, and that line just shocked me, he threw it out! He even mentions how rare VB is in Oz and he throws it out, I am in disbelief, this poor fella knows very little, been collecting 1.5 years and not even stumbled across planetvb by accident.
Sucks he has given you neg feedback, its obvious from reading only a few articles and comments the problem is his VB, hell most of us here knew that before getting to the end of the title of your first post, so no way should you get stung for his problem.
He threw it out…………I’m now having a sad Monday in respect for the thrown out ‘broken’ VB lying alone in an antipodean landfill.

A) it’s harder to get something to “pop out” of a stereoscopic display than it is to make things seem far away, and that B) Nintendo (and its licensees) are intentionally focusing on making deep games, rather than the gimmicky, hackneyed “stuff flying at your face” junk Hollywood has always (ab)used 3-D for. (Sorry, I don’t have a source for “B”, but I know I read it somewhere… probably in one of the “Iwata Asks” interviews).
Spot on Amos, I have read the same somewhere, the only time i have had the full 3D stuff in my face effect is with iMax 3D, i had snow falling on the seat in front it felt that close, its to do with how much of your vision is taken up with the screen as to how ‘close’ the things appear. If more of your peripheral vision is taken with the screen then things will seem right in front of you, but thats not what N are going for, they know this and realise popping out just won’t really work with a screen that size, its about depth, and IMO it does it damn well.
edit: first few plays on my VB felt a bit tired in the eyes but now is all fine, its set up for my eyes (IPD & focus folks, IPD and focus) and i don’t have any problems, I do take breaks etc but can play for several hours (if I’m lucky and can get that much time to game)
Yes it did desrve more than it got but at the time it didn’t stand much of a chance.
Press hated it, cost a heap, rushed to be released, assumed wrongly as the successor to the Gameboy (having ‘boy’ in the title made that one stick). Along with a stack of other issues all been outlined before (ie I’m too lazy to dig em out and re-iterate whats been said before).
If only it had been relaunched as was planned, we might have at least had some of the 2nd generation gems, Dragon Hopper etc, even if it only managed another year on the shelf.
But at least it did get released, imagine if all we ever got were a few pre-release photos and statements, then nothing, got pulled before production.
Man thats just daft, and damaging to our red friends future.
Looks like the market place area here could get a bit of an increase in traffic, so bad ebay = good for planetVB?

Just got my Mugen Power battery in the mail the other day and still hapy to own the console. I’d like a red, but we’ll see where this all goes…
Cool, keep us informed on how it goes, how long it plays etc, I have to put mine in craddle as soon as i get home from work else i don’t get to play after dinner, or i do but get the red flash warning of imminent game progress loss, which is actually good cos you don’t miss the fact your 3DS is about to shut down and gives you time to get it to the cradle.
as far as i can recall the screen face is black, like the blue and black versions, but he rest is red, outer case, hinge and button face, i think its still layered but not sure if it goes lighter or darker, check out planet3ds link on the home page, i’m sure it had links to the jpn red one.
(i’m on my 3ds so not sure if i can paste a link)

I too have a great mental image of Amos in a Mr Whippy truck, ah thats made me smile today.
Virtualchris: nice job fella 🙂
Go for it, you will love the 3DS, and you can buy old GB games too from the eShop. (and other systems but GB was Yokoi’s baby)
Thats my b’day its out on, I’d not say no if you felt inclined to get me one and send it over, my wife then won’t have bragging rights as she has the red/black DS we got when over in the US and I just have my faithful old black one, and the grey brick.
Phew, i had a moment of mild panic as the timing of the site being down meant that when i checked at work it was offline, when i got home and checkled it was back, that happened twice, made me think our work IT had blocked my fav sites, it didn’t help that i left my work pc on the other night with opera still running and both sites open, but all is well and good, well i hope so and thanks for your efforts in keeping us up and running & informed Chris.
