it couldn’t be done to any VB cart though as (and I am only guessing, not done any research or nothing, which being as we are on the internet makes me an expert…..) the Starfox overclock relates to the Super FX chip in the cart and has no effect on the actual processor in the snes.
As far as i can figure all VB carts hold the ROM and thats about it, no special chips to enhance the gameplay.

@Ben, I agree, it just goes to show the temperamental nature of the glitchy display problem. That unit was sent to me with the glitch and every time I have fired it up I had the glitch, but not yesterday.
I need to open it up again and see what could be done, then like you say if it doesn’t come back, it could well have worked.

I thought I would fire up my second VB and see what could be done about the glitchy display it has, and to my surprise it now works fine, no glitch, no lines, no graphic break down, its fine, for now. This may sound odd but I was disappointed it worked, I wanted to try and work out another solution to fix, maybe using some type of clamp that holds the ribbon cable to the pcb, I haven’t worked out any details but wanted to get a start.
I can still try and figure out something and hope that the glitch returns in the future so I can try and fix it.

I forgot I had the last Layton on DS, the Last Specter, spotted it on the shelf and was trying to think what the story was about, then my memory finally kicked in and I realized I had not actually played it, so I’m puzzling my way through that.

Yeah thats the only reason, its nearly a Nintendo item, just a naff play on wording.

A perfect repro could be made, but couldn’t be machined as its copying a molded part etc, but I guess outer faces could be the same but that requires turning the product over to machine the other side, meaning the line up has to be bang on to make it work, not very feasible with our set up.

A quality 3D print could do it, but they are expensive compared to finding another stand.

Its a personal thing about the looks, I get that some folks want an identical copy but these are a basic simple shape to try and keep costs down.
Fit for function, which personally I think is all that matters in a repair.

If you did want to get yourself a 3D print of the original I do have it modeled and I’m happy to let anyone have a copy to get printed, just PM me.

Its only $7.99 shipped for 10 edge connectors that dont need to be sacrificed from a edge connector of a real VB cart.

Now all we would need is a VB cartridge case.

And thats where 3D printing comes in, but the results are not perfect, not really close to a molded cart case finish quality, but it works, I printed a red front and back with inset lettering for my Bound High cart, it looks quite good holds the pcb and connector and fits the VB head unit fine, link to post:

Also the cost is a little on the high side just for cart cases (cost me for front & rear & UPS carriage $45) but then they can be made ‘special’ with logos & writing etc.

Sounds like you got it sorted, Richard has helped me out before and is totally trustworthy and all that.
A Flashboy is a must, unless you have large amount of funds, but for the rest of us who just wanna play, Flashboy answers that hankering.
VB games will only ever give a true VB experience when played on hardware no amount of emulation, even 3D emulation comes close (well that fella with the 3D TV sitting on a box over his face is not far off, pic posted in another thread here in PVB) so yes you DO need a FB.
Richard is in UK too, so in theory this is the one time when being in the UK and owning a VB is better than being in US or JPN, Flashboys are UK made. Totally makes up for not having the VB released here in 1995……..well maybe not…..:)
