I even drew a doodle with me and my friend on a sleigh piloted by Dreamcasts and… a Virtual Boy in place of Rudolph! but I don’t think I drew it well so I’m too shy to show it off here 😛

Now you have me intrigued, don’t be shy about posting we all know what a loon you are on this site no-one will think of you any differant for posting an odd picture.

Yeah 1 year of VB ownership, have a cup of tea on me. 😀

And heres a festive render of a controller for you all.

Is it just me that think the link cable is a bad idea?
I mean there is harldy any 2 player games at all

Maybe people should make a game that has like 10+ mini games in it but all are only 2 player mini games

So if a set of 2P mini games was to be made would a cable not be needed to test this, chicken egg type scenario occuring i think.

Also sorry Akumie but man you left yourself open wide for this one…..

You also need a friend to play 2P games with, so yeah maybe it is a bad idea for you to buy a cable. 😀

Howdy RafikiDreamer, welcome to a great site, congratulations on getting a top console, i highly recommend getting yourself a Flashboy, playing games on anything other than VB hardware is never a complete experience, fun but you need the immersion you only get with a VB unit.
😀

it looks like 18mm x 6mm x 6mm would be fine, though I can’t say 100% for sure until I actually get one built.

Ah i didn’t think we were doing a micro size cable for your 1:10 scaled VB, just having a dig, its cm not mm I hope you mean…….

but now when i see Mario is n=in a game- just don’t buy it.

Oh wow so you have chosen to miss out on Mario Galaxy & Mario Kart, to name a few, fair enough its all personal choice but i’d say at least give them a go, rent them or play at a buddys place.
Personally i can’t stand football (soccer) at all, playing watching, even hearing it on a radio, but when my buddys were playing fifa or something like that i had to give it a go, sure i still don’t like it but I had to try in case i was missing out on a fun game experience with my friends, which i now know I am not. You could be (and are IMHO) missing out on a great racing game that is so much fun with friends and/or online. And if you liked N64 Mario you have to at least give Galaxy a go.
Just my thoughts, discard at your leisure.

It is good to hear of one so young enjoying retro, Spectrum was a top machine, had many lost hours programming & gaming on that back in the day…..chuckie egg, attic attack, knightlore, pyjamarama, good stuff.

Yey, thanks Chris, mmm I guess that is a frequently asked question about a jpn game manual, penny now dropping, doh. 😀

Thanks, from Arizona!

Twas a day filled with turkey; now to finish it off with some Space Squash.

Coincidence, my Space Squash turned up today so I’ll be playing that tonight and 3D tetris, best go add them to my collection list. Cheers to Manicfoot for selling.

Damn I missed the deadline, totally mixed up the dates for the last few days and have been about a week behind.
Congrats to all, some top work there.
Well done DanB, Hunter is a great piece of code, and was one of the only ones to not have graphical bleed when i used it on the flashboy, the others were playable but did suffer from odd graphical things going on here and there.
Now I’m looking forward to 2P versions of these 😀

DogP, oh yeah i was totally missing the input method, I kick myself now as i never got on with FPS on the cube or N64 analog sticks, only wii and DS, point & shoot or stylus. I’ve been spoilt with the wii point & shoot mechanic, which opened up these games for me again.
So no def not a railshooter, tut blimey, whoever thought that would be a good idea……

I’m now going along the lines of bound high with its top down view but make the goal reach the top like in your supa bounce trying to avoid upper platforms as you bound your way up, so maybe if a platform is above you it blocks your view so you have to try and move past it and then bounce back on its top surface to gain more height, just a thought…..

IMO, a railshooter would be good, maybe taking a little advice from the 3DS development where some fella was saying how its better to have things going away from you than coming at you in 3D (a reverse space harrier), so maybe the game view could be looking back as the ship/plane/tank/ornithoptor moves forward and you have to take out things that are chasing you & receeding as you pass them, could lead to some interesting visual perceptions when you pop your head out from the VB unit and reality keeps receeding (bit like the way everything moves up when you look away from guitar hero having followed the downward movement for some time)
A 2P option needs to be figured into this too.

Cool a clamp works, I had thought a while back about using a clamp but had never needed to try as my VB works fine. I have been looking for a broken VB to try and fix with a clamp method, then if the clamp did work I could maybe get a batch made and sell them through the site. I’m pleased you have got results, maybe next year I’ll try to get a busted VB, funds is short so got to wait.
Do you find it causes any problems or clashing etc adjusting the focus or IPD?

Ah thats why i couldn’t use it over the weekend, if others also feel its ok to release the modded code I would love to see it so i can play in my VB and vote accordingly, my voting is based on using the entries on a Flashboy in the hardware.
I like the concept, Ive not playing with a fractal generator for many years, I have had a look at all the entries on an emulator but i wanted to reserve my true views on all of them for the hardware experience.
The bugginess did give me mild panic that my VB unit had suddenly got glitchy, i had to dig out an official cart to check, and hence ended up spending a good hour on Sunday playing Mario Clash again.

Its a top idea, going to be tough to keep track of but with some organizing skills, (def not my department) i thinks its totally feasible.

To make a game with more flesh etc to it than a one man homebrew one would be a great thing (obviously i mean no disrespect for all homebrew one man game makers, its you who are the skillset here) At the wild end of speculation it could always be picked up by the big N and released on 3DSware, now that i would find amusing, Nintendos dark secret spawned a race of 3D game makers, just waiting for the opportunity to show the world how wrong they were to shun our red friend when finally they get into 3D.

But i digress….
I’m not sure how i could help, i can model & draw 3D but in trying get a 3D wireframe into the VB earlier this year fried my brain, but I would still like to have another go some time.

Deciding which idea to go for will be tough to please all involved, it could be worth thinking big for this project.

Sweet, look forward to it.
There does seem some great stuff there, I am hoping to have a go at a few tonight, I will make sure to check out the latest code etc before i cast my votes.

Me too, but i have only done it once, guess i need to slap it back in and complete again, I know i didn’t get all the treasure etc so def got more to see.
Yeah nice graphics, good game, some good little 3D touches, maybe next year the rest of the world will have played, if N release it on 3DSware that is.

Well I won it for $107,50, yay!

Can’t wait to try all VB games and the homebrews.

Awesome, playing on a VB unit is just the best, emulators are ok but really it has to be the hardware to get the full experience, don’t forget Boundhigh, that on a VB is great.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you programming folks have been busy with, games, demos, effects anything & everything is of interest. If i get the time i will try them all on my Flashboy.

I used to know a few programming languages when i did my collage stuff and i certainly know how hard programming can be, maybe one day (like at retirement age most likely) I’ll have another go at programming, but by then Akumie’s thought generated game engine will be working and any game we imagine will instantly be ready to play on any platform, you just have to wish for it hard enough.

you can’t blame him for asking about the quote. if you’re going to be that forward about it someone is going to ask questions. the way i see it the is no harm in you putting it up and no harm in akumie’s asking about it.

Very true, no harm in asking, but i think referring to them as lame in the initial question is a little insulting.
